It's an I-250 (MiG-13) combined propelled fighter. Max speed of 825 kph in level flight was achieved, however, due to constant reliability problems plane was not ready for operational usage till jet powered Yak-15 and MiG-9 started taking over, so MiG-13 fate was sealed. A bit more here:

The site says "Fly such advanced aircraft as the MiG-9 for the Red Airforce, Ar-234 for the Luftwaffe, and many more!" http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/clap.gif

Is the fourth one down a Yak-15 or a Mig-9? I'm thinking Yak-15. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

When the germans lost in 1945 the russains took the german plane jet-drawings and thanks to them they made the mig-9, it was a copy of some german aircraft that was never built. So how did they get a mig-9 in the 1946(in this mod)? Or am I wrong???

Yak15. MiG-9 has two paralel engines, weaponry below air intake, and a round buletproof windscreen. Yak-15 is basicaly redesigned Yak3 with a jet engine in a nose.

Is that fixed gear an A5M Claude or a Ki-27?

Not exactly. The development of the MiG-9 started in february 1945. But the first prototype used BMW-003 jet-engines. The later models used a russian rebuild of that engine.

It's a Ki-27, an A5M "Claude" looks that way:

It WAS planned some time - dunno it's "status quo" though.

Kudos to the original poster who threw this stuff up there it shows how many check ORR these pics have been around for awhile.

The MiG-9 is the first jet and the Yak is the second I believe. That isn't the Claude thats the Ki-27, IIRC the Claude was a Navy fighter which according to SaQson was scrapped for the game. The Ki-27 saw extensive service inland over China, Manchuria, and Burma, it was the mainstay fighter for the Army until the Ki-43 came along but didn't see any much or action that I'm aware of in the Pacific (being its not carrier borne).

I'm excited for these new Russian jets but I have to ask... how close were the Russians to getting a jet into combat before the war was over (aside from the Bi-1 which was actually a rocket). It always seemed to me that the British and Americans were much closer which is why a Meteor is more justifyable.

Either way I still embrace it with open arms! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif
