Yes, a mod. We aren't allowed to give direct links or advice on mods in this forum, but if you were to Google something like 'IL2 ultrapack' you'd probably find what you are after. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

very much doubt you'll find a mig 16 http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/crackwhip.gif

Well they have a MiG 15 and a MiG 17 (sort of...), so on average...

If you wanted the MiG-21 to average out as your answer, I'm afraid you'll need the MiG-31 first.

... or just add 2 MiG-9s to a MiG-3. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

"sort of"?

'Sort of' as in I believe the mod is a 3-D MiG-15 with a MiG-17 FM - the proper MIG-17 model is a WIP. The differences are slight, but they are there. I'd rather see a proper cockpit for the jets anyway, but that is how it goes with mods - you take what you are given.

Can't really tell the difference between a 15 and a 17 just by looking at the exteriors but the 17 has an afterburner and it sure handles differently. And yes, it would be nice to have a cockpit (same with half the other mod planes, they gave the F-84 a cockpit but not the F-86?)

I believe the most noticeable difference was in the wing planform, thogh no doubt someone who knows more about '50s jets than I do (not difficult), will add more.

a couple of things,

1) there is now a slight mod for the mig17 over at SAS to make it look more like a mig 17, which is pretty good.

2) you can download a proper f86 cockpit, and its very good.

3) a mig 21 is on its way, see SAS.

With MiG 21 you mean Fishbed?
For real?

Could you P.M me the link please?

Well, someone at SAS is working on a MiG 21. It looks like one, but I doubt it will fly much like one (if it is ever finished - a lot more mods get started than ever see the light of day). This is pushing the IL-2 physics engine way beyond anything it was designed to do.

I'd think if you want to fly a MiG 21 in combat, you'd do better to find another sim to put it in. Still, as a 'fun' project, why not?

Since sani's working on it, it will come, do not be put off by andys doubting ways, and already il2 has been pushed much futher than originally intended by the sabre and migs, since 1000kph used to be a game engine limit...

The guy is doing the Mig-21 way better than I could but I will say that the overall length of Mig looks a bit short and the nose cone for the engine intake is a bit too long and protruding. I've seen better modeling in my time.

More importantly, what are you going to do with it?

Where? I know you aren't supposed to post links to mods but I'm sure it would be okay to tell us what to google http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I really wouldn't bother with jets later than ones in the Korean War, sure it might be possible to create the FMs but modeling the radar and guided missiles seems more complex than what IL2 was designed to do. I would like to see more action involving the Sabre and MiG-15, that mission in Zekes the other day was a blast but haven't seen anything else to do with them.
