What's an airshow without a little barnstorming?

What's an EL pic thread without a P40?

Bombers, then...

Any Thunderbolts?

I really wanted to go to this. My original request for leave dates would have allowed me to detour through Columbus and catch a day of GML. Unfortunately the boss wouldn't agree to as many days as I asked for.

I couldn't afford to fly there with a senior in High School... and the one person who was supposed to drive with me backed out @ 2 weeks before and in that time I couldn't find anyone who could go on such short notice... The next time something like this happens, if it happens.. those guys are getting old... I will depend on myself and no one else and I will be there.

Out of interest, did the B-2 have an 'escort' or was it flying alone? I only ask because the one and only time I saw one it had four F-15s in echelon formation of one wing and a single F-15 about 300m behind it. Seemed a very deliberate, if slightly odd, formation. At the time I wondered if it was designed to mask the B-2's acoustic signature.

I've seen a B-2 at several air shows and it was flying by itself each time.

What! There were planes other than Mustangs there?

Great pics ElAurens! We are still sorting through our 500+ pics. Thank goodness for digital images....

As far as I could see the B2 was flying by itself.

Yeah, there were two Thunderbolts that flew in the same demonstration as some Mustangs, P-40s, a P-39, P-38, two B-17s, two B-25s and a Lancaster. I'm red as a lobster from the sun but it was worth it. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

That was not a P39 BTW, it was a P63 Kingcobra...

The B2 arrived alone.

Trying to get my P51 pics uploaded ASAP. Been having wonky internet connection all afternoon.

Nice pics ElAurens. Keep them coming. I took alot of pictures there, but they aren't nearly as good as these.

The B-2 was flying solo. The announcer was talking about how stealth planes like the B-2 have made fighters flying in the bomber escort role like the P-51 served in WWII unnecessary (to paraphrase).

The F-22 flight demonstration was cool too. For such a goofy looking plane it has got some serious moves.

This guy put on one of the best shows of the day, all in a couple hundred feet of altitude. Here is the end of his show "dancing" the plane down the runway, sideways, waving to the crowd.
