View Full Version : I can't get the landing gear on the P-11 to retract.

No matter what I try, I can't seem to get the landing gear on my P-11 to retract!

Can someone please help?

With the landing gear hanging down there, it creates alot of drag and makes my P-11 go very slow!

Should I report this bug to Oleg?

Are you kidding? This plane does not have retractable gear! Or I don't clearly get your point :?

I just cracked up imagining you trying to retract landing gear that doesnt retract, doh!

XyZspineZyX

It's most certainly NOT fixed!

It's broken!

I can't get it to retract at all!

This is very dangerous situation for me in dogfights, as the exposed landing gear apparatus creates unwanted drag and therefore makes my P-11 much too slow!

No matter how hard I pound that "G" button, nothing happens!

Has anyone else noticed this for the P-11?

You have to bind it to the Ctrl + E key.

I don't smoke pot or anything else for that matter, but I think the dev. team may have been smoking something when they wrote the code for the P-11.

They completely FORGOT to make the P-11's landing gear retractable!

No wonder there is so much whining about the patch!

This reminds me of the time in my primary training when one of my instructors (who had been spending a lot of time in multiple aircraft) did a GUMP check in a C172.

He called out "Undercarriage" and I answered with, "Down and welded."

Needless to say we didn't get any farther than that on that one. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

In other words, yes, the P11 is fixed gear. You have throttle, and I believe elevator trim, but no flaps or retractable gear.

Was this some kind of a joke or something?

I tried this Ctrl + E thing, only to have my little virtual pilot throw himself clear of my P-11, pass cleanly through the unretracted landing gear with no apparant injury.

But he was too low to deploy his 'chute as it was just after take-off (which is when I normally reract the gear)

Does anyone know if it was possible for pilots during WWII to pass cleanly through their aircraft upon bailing out? The gun camera footage I have seen from the war has them jumping free and clear, as if they hadn't a care in the world.

Does anyone know if the final 1.1 patch corrected the landing gear bug on the P-11?

This is the FULL instruction (the previous one was a sort of 1.1b):
1 - You have to bail out by that Ctrl+E thing
2 - You have to grab your P-11 by Ctrl+Alt+Grab
3 - You have to start your Chainsaw Mk.II by Ctrl+Shift+ChSw
4 - Now try to cut that bloody landgear by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Canc: if the screen goes black and your PC reboots, it means that you cut off your head instead of the wheels.

Good luck!

Salute Fan

I have consulted extensively with my friends in Polish RAF Squadron at Northolt.

This problem is solved very easily by inexperienced German flyers who are using Polish aircraft... /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Simply fly low over hanger, and landing gear will be removed automatically and can be picked up later.

See? No problem. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

You know I can get the gear to retrack either. And something else I noticed is that the props on the ME262 are missing.

Stupid n00b, you need to map keys to manual gear retract before you can retract them!

Just remember to rebind "Lock Gear" to Escape.

lol you guy's are all nuts.

Well no imean some of you are kidding but my god, some of you are not.

What i usualy do with the P-11 is i hang by my feet from the C/P and with my bair hands i rip the gear off and throw it in the C/P. When im done flying i duck tape the gear back on. Well this has only worked once, i fell out of the C/P last time.

What you dont beleave me!

You mean you can't get your Stuka to retract it's landing gear the normal way? After the new patch,Ju-87's 50mm nose cannon is quite effective, along with the Jumo turbine engine....

my P-11 gear goes up just fine ...... without the drag i get 450 Kph out of it but its not as good t turning without the drag

btw : ..... someone was in the process of modelling the P-24 , i hope it is still going to come to FB

I think it's caused by a keyboard buffer overload. You should reboot your PC each time after you've started FB or at least before you hit "Fly" to be sure.

there is a bug but it is in lowering the gear not raising it

the p11 gear "autoretracts" in a dive at 480 kmh its an automatic feature .. exceed that speed and no gear http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

flies much better as well without it

the hard bit is getting the gear to go down again
