please humour me, having owned the original game for just about a week now (still playing un-patched) i can now see why the reviews were so good. i am gobsmacked by this game. my previous "hobby" was allied assault, not any more. even though i am still playing with the keyboard (waiting for the joystick to arrive) the game is still brilliant. i discoverd ctrl f1 to make the cockpit disapear last night, brilliant. actually managed to take out some ground targets.

question: when droping bombs whats the best way to see how they landed?

i played back my flight last night also as a track..brilliant.

to all you FB players, please excuse me, you have all been there and done that i know, but thanks for the pointers, people have responded quickly with great tips for the few postings i have made so far

i love this game......

Frior, to answer your question u need to tell us what bomber u fly and what settings u use.

For instance if u fly He-111 and fly full real settings then best way to see where bombs land is to go to tailgunner position while slowly climbing.

Flying an IL-2 dive bombing with external views allowed then mebby fly-by view would be the best (F3).

You can, if you're attacking stationary targets, set the bomb delay to 15 seconds or so and turn around after the drop to see the explosion.
The bomb delay is set in "Aircraft Custom√¬*zation" before the flight.

Keep external views on, and then after dropping your bombs, switch to F2 to see your target blow up beneath you. You can zoom in or out with the mouse.

There are several options for seeing the bomb strikes:

1. If you have enough delay on, F3 (flyby) or F2 (external) views allow you to view the target from your aircraft.

2. If the target is the only one in the area, F7 (external aircraft to ground target view) also is reliable

3. Add static cameras in the Full Mission Builder to allow you to view the target directly with Ctrl-F2 (view next enemy). Again you'll need enough delay on the bombs to allow you to select the view before the bomb goes off.

4. Tracks, which you appear to be already using.
