Hello fellow IL2 FB flyers,

I am flying in several pilot campaigns (offline) and some have gotten a little tedious after 30-40 missions. For instance, I have flown 40 fighter/bomber missions as a FW190 pilot in the Kursk campaign and it is just about the same thing every day.

I am ready for a change - like a new plane or place - but I don't want to loose my rank, medals, or victories.

I was once wounded and bailed out. This was cool because I got transferred after my recouperation and got a new aircraft type.

Is there any way to get reliably wounded, or some other way to jump a little into the future?

Best Regards,

JC

At the start of WW2 the German army lacked experienced anti-aircraft gunners. The average gunner was so bad that the USSR decided to help them out. They did it by forcing some of their pilots to fly I-153 flak magnets. These planes were slow but very sturdy. This allowed German anti-aircraft gunners to get a large amount of target practice on a relatively small number of planes. Thanks to the Soviets help, by the end of the war the German anti-aircraft gunners were amoung the best in the world.

You could always take off then jump otta ya plane at about 5ft off the ground! I aint tried it but it could work.

Or try crashing plane at slow speed into something on ground (lol). I did that once and was actually sent to hospital for 2 months- and for psychoanalysis!

For about ten bucks I could wound you, probably the most efficient way. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Well, I made it out of '43 Kursk after nearly 40 missions. The campaign ended and I did not have to get wounded after all. I got reassigned to a squadron with G-model 109s with the 30mm cannon. I am happy for now.

Of course, I would like to trade-in the F-model 109 I am flying in the '41 Smolensk campaign. Tha 15mm cannon just doesn't cut it. Run into an object on the ground you say? I just might try it!

you will probably get courtmartialled for it

but try landing with gear up, or taxi-ing into another parked aircraft

Try drop a bomb when 20-25 meters up and make sure
bomb delay is set to zero.

Dont dodge an enemy when he's on your tail. Hope that a small calibre round finds its mark in your arm and not your head. Falling a sleep at the stick and being shot is the only way i have gotten wounded in FB campaign.

Simply report your intentions to your superior! By the time you are available for combat duty you can look forward to new AC like the Mig 29.
