What if i run into a large convoy enroute to my patrol aea and i run out of torpedoes. If i decide to return to base at that point do i get a mission fail or penalty? Seems illogical to continue to the patrol area and stay there for a day without ammo. Especially when your patrol area is far from where you are at that point. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif

You earn a small amount of renown for reaching your patrol zone and patrolling it for a minimum of 24 hours. This is then modified by your difficulty settings. Don't sweat it if you have a big battle and use up all your torpedoes before you get to your patrol zone. BdU will be well pleased, so long as you sink some Tommies. This has happened to me more than once and there is no adverse effect for not reaching your patrol zone. Another benefit is that you actually have saved the Fatherland all that fuel you would otherwise have burned.

You get 500 renown for raching the patrol zone and 200 more for staying 24 hours.

This amount is then modified down to fit your difficulty setting.

Regardless of difficulty settings this is worth about the same as 3 c2's and a small tankers worth of renown.
