Anyone seen them? http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif I have never seen anyone lose controls in p-40. And I haven't lose them either. We even tested it. My wing mate flew straight with P-40 and I hammered his tailpipes every directions, all kind of caliber weapons and he never loses controls.. not even rudders. Then we tried wings. With pods, wing will be cut off but with single 20mm cannon or 7.92mm you can fire almost all ammos to the wing and never lose controls. Well ofcourse after minutes of hammering aileron will fly away but sitll no control lose. I don't know much about P-40 construction but it's just so weird, when some planes, I don't mention any by name.. *couch*..bf-109..*couch* lose theyr control cables for one angry stare http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Any one agree with this? Or tell me how it's done http://ubbxforums.ubi.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Funny you should mention that.
I lost mine yesterday online. I lost it to an He-111 rear gunner, rather embarassing, hehe. That's the only time though.

I fly the p40 alot and it happens to me often enough but not as often as a engine fire.

I had ALL of my cables (aileron, elevator and rudder) knocked out in a single pass with an ACE AI Zero just last night.

they are made out of thermo neculear material which scoffs at your attempts to hurt them

I find that unusual. I find that the P40 get damaged pretty easily - as opposed to what you are claiming.

I mean I have been blown to pieces by a P39, ripped apart from a PE and are no match for a BF109.

So I am very courious to see if what you experienced could be replicated by other testers to see if your hypothesis - can be tested - multiple times before making such claims.

Everything gets damaged pretty easily alierons rudder elevator engine guns engine. It may not look like it elevator and alierons shotout sometimes you can get back to base using rudder and flaps

Strange, I´ve been flying P-40E in DCG and in 3 of the last 5 missions I´ve had both my aileron and elevetor controls severed by bomber rear gunners in no more than a couple of hits (perhaps even both controls at the same time from a single hit?). I think it´s a little odd since those shots were fired when I was chasing the bombers and I hate to think what those bullets must have ripped through to get to the control cables. Perhaps they actually hit the controls in the cockpit?
