I wonder how much it costs? +/- 250" ?

And I'm waiting for the first SimHq test on it.

I would expect the price to be somewhere in the region of US $500 - $1000

lol Dont need to expect that much. This type of hardware is simple if compared toa 3D Graphic card. In fact most thing this chip does are same math that is done in TnL units ona modern video card. So .. I would expect this type of unit support embedded on future high end video cards.

Well it's dependant on how many they expect to sell realy...

But then a card I have with 5 Motorola DSP's cost $2000 in 2001 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

but for NVIDIA foe example.. with Shader Model 3.. is only a matter od DRIVER to make a 6800 card make same calculations. I am already experimentating with some vertex shaders programs to perform such calculations and measure speed.

The chip is set to be deployed in a setup this summer. From another writeup I saw on this.
I do not think it will be that much. As it looks now the chip will be used with other type chips , like mated to a gpu on a video card, we will have to wait and see. But one thing as it being dedicated it will make the output awsome on games and work programs.
