There's a show on the Military Channel about medal of honor winners. They had a segment where they interviewed James Swett who flew a Wildcat in Guadalcanal. He shot down 7 Vals in 15 minutes. He downed three of them on his first pass. After the third, he got hit by his own AA fire. With a chunk out of his wing, he shot down four more before ditching his plane and getting picked up by the coast guard. Most impressive part? This was the first time he ever saw combat.
