extract all of them
and combine.

then download and do the same with the patch for GW

finally take the combined files
and use the mod manager to actually install them.
that way you can uninstall GW at will incase
you want to try other options.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

I think you are better off downloading the installer version of Grey Wolves as I mentioned in reply to your earlier post.

It's best to create a new folder on your desktop and download each file into it. When you have donloaded the 5 files you are then ready to use the .exe file to install the GW. The installer program has some extra options for you to choose from, when you have made the choices the program then starts the installation.

I must stress it is important to install GW over a freshly installed and patched SH3. You are then free to use SH3 Commander afterwards.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Goose, can you clarify why you prefer the download site you recommend? I am trying to download from that ftp site but it is very slow. On the other hand, the Real Sim site is very fast.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Are you sure? I have recently downloaded from the site I mentioned and not received that error.

Make sure all 4 archive files TGW11a-1.bin, TGW11a-2.bin, TGW11a-3.bin, TGW11a-4.bin and the installer TGW11a.exe are all in the same directory.

Mind you I install from my second Hard Drive - maybe that is the reason I can. Otherwise you could burn the 5 files onto disc and try it that way.

I never use the JSGE mod activator for this mod as I have always used the installer.<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Well, it is a European mirror and since I live in the UK it seems okay for me - I was getting a good 250kb/secs transfer rate - and each file (180Mb) didn't take very long on my ADSL connection.

However, I did include the Grey Wolves website and there was another download link available.

Edit - Oh yes thats the Subsim one - the one that is always never available http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

How do you disable GW with the .exe download without having to reinstall SH3 ? This is why I like JSGME, when you disable it , you always have a clean install, and it takes 1/2 the time.

I also don't see the advantage of manually installing Mods. Plus, JSGME I think is better for noobs to use so they don't mess up and have to reinstall.

BTW, I am not messing with you Goose, I would never do that to a good friend. I am also looking forward to the next Model Update, you may get me to buy one http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

No worries Tuddley.

You have raised a very valid point when trying to disable GW. I thought I would offer an alternative to the person who has trouble with getting to install GW. Unfortunately that's the one problem with the installer program, you can't uninstall it (as far as I know).

By the way , the workers in the ship yards are on strike or on a extended tea break, so the U-Boat construction has ground to a halt for the time being http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Actually joking apart I'm doing some prep work for the conning tower as this is my next stage, I have to paint some of the smaller parts while they are fixed to the frame. Don't worry updates will come soon!<div class="ev_tpc_signature">
