(Apologies for the delay!)

My fellow Kaleuns

Welcome to the February SH4 Screenshot Competition Submissions Thread for UNEDITED entries.

The Screenshot Competition allows any forum member to show off, and compete each month for the coveted certificate, signed by me for authentification. Begun in April 2006 with the SH3 competition (Still running of course), as the month's progress, we'll build an excellent ˜portfolio' of shots we can all be proud of.

Each winner will receive a fantastic certificate, with their name printed on it and signed by me for authentication posted to them wherever they live in the world! Winners must PM me their postal address so I can send them their certificate.
(Credit to VG for designing the Certificate - Great Job!)

Taking part is really simple. There are a few rules and guidelines, and below are some tips for posting up your shots Remember to vote too when voting opens each month, and add any comments or questions you wish to ask about the screenshot you are voting for.

How do I enter?

1. Submit your EDITED screenshots from the 1st of month until the 16th, when the thread will be closed and another sticky thread for voting will be opened, which will link back to here so you can view all the entries

2. Submit no more than 4 screenshots. It will be easier for voting purposes if you post all 4 in the same post.

3. Please remove your ˜dials' before posting your screenshot. Press 'del' on your number pad on your keyboard to remove the dials, take your screenshot then press it again to get them back. Scroll down to see how to remove the dials if you've forgotten to do this when you took the shot.

4. The edited competition allows you free reign over what you do!

5. Size – Given the growing popularity for widescreen monitors, the only restriction is a maximum width of 1024 pixels.

I will endeavour to contact via PM anyone who posts outsized shots or shots with dials on them to give them time to resubmit.

How do I vote?

Voting starts on the 17th of each month and finishes on the last day of the month. Any forum member can vote – even if you haven't entered the competition itself.

You get TWO votes per competition – 1st vote awards 3 points and the 2nd vote awards 1 point.

I need help!

Doug D kindly offers some good advice for those wishing to remove dials from their screencaps if they have left dials showing:

Process:
Step 1: Right click picture > select 'open with' > 'Paint'
Step 2: Select 'dotted rectangle' tool, place curser in one corner of desired picture, leaving out the dials e.g. top left, and drag to opposite corner (bottom right), let go.
Step 3: Select 'Edit' > 'copy to' and give new file name. (Note: defaults to .BMP file.)
Step 4: Repeat Step 1 on new file and select 'save as' and '.jpg' in 'Save as type' drop menu and save.

Now you have your great competition entry screenshot without the dials and we can all vote for you.

There is a general guide to getting your screenshots posted here in the forum: Here (http://forums.ubi.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/6421019045/m/4071024145)

Given that the Feb comp was started late - again my apologies - I'll leave the entries thread open until the 20th. The voting will then start in this thread.

Thanks everyone who entered. Time to vote! As normal, you get two votes - first vote awards three points and second vote awards one point. State who and for which screenshot you are voting for. Voting closes end of the month.

***POST YOUR VOTE HERE IN THIS THREAD***

Good luck everyone! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

3 points go to "One Lone Wolf" - I can imagine seeing that one on a canvas as a painting - very artistic http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

1 point for Mittelwaechter's "Smells like a tabacco freighter" - I really like the underwater and above water contrast and those great smoke or mist clouds!

Only four combatants this month? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/sadeyes.gif

3 points to Goose_Green's first artwork. Love especially this spooky atmosphere on the conningtower against the lights.

1 point to Subject_rod's "One lone wolf" - it looks really handpainted in blue-grey.

"tirpitz shockwave" by comanderFritz is a nice work too, but a little "worn out" - well I saw it in several (even non-naval) forums...

1 point to my old fearless leader ComanderFritz's "Tirpitz Shockwave" .
Yes it's old, but always been one of my all time favorites. Also the Tirpitz is my favorite ship.
