Been a while since I have been here, but are there any plans for this? That would at least give us another "native" plane for the British carriers and open up some possbility for Med based action vs. the Regia Aeronautica.

unfortunately the different cockpit would be a huge undertaking, and I haven't heard it its being worked on...

Some nice FAA skins at IL-Skins for FAA Gladiators. Just slap 'em on a J-8.

My squad found out -- quite by accident -- that the Gladiator lands very nicely on a carrier WITHOUT a hook. It lands at such a slow speed, the brakes are all you need.

Finally, while I have no idea why the cockpit is in Swedish (a neutral country, fer cryin out loud http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif), I consider it by far the most beautiful cockpit in the game. Unless a new one could be made to meet that standard, I'll live with the Swedish data plates.

We already have a Sea Gladiator, folks...

All that would need changing is the instruments, not a very big job at all.

A number of Swedish pilots and aircrews served as volunteers during the Second World War. The most well-known are the volunteers in F19, the Swedish unit who took part in the Finnish-Soviet Winter War of 1939-40, the J8 was one of the aircraft types used by them

Yep, aware of all the above except for the fact that it landed well without the arrestor hook. If that works, (can you do it on the escort carriers I wonder) then I am fine with faking it.
