View Full Version : I'm sick of trying to buy this game!

For the past 2 weeks, I've been trying to buy this game. I've called, gone to numerous game sellers and none of them have it. They always promise me they'll have it next week and that they're out of stock at the moment. I'm sick of it. They always seem to have the most useless games like Flight Combat Simulator 3 and Battle over Normandy (I doubt it even a flight sim). I've been to the stores 3 times and 3 times they weren't there even there after I called them. **** those vendors, no wonder game piracy is on the rise!

I don't know what your location is but every Best Buy and CompUSA in Phoenix has 8 or 10 copies on shelf and Phoenix ain't exactly bleedin edge when it comes to having something 1st.
The previous phone suggestion might help some.

got great news this week. EB called to tell me the pre-ordered copy of PF had arrived. Told them I have had a copy for two weeks. "No problem" was the response, "Come on in for your store credit." Had to talk to the store manager to get my $5 deposit refunded. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

I finally got my grubby little fingers on it today. Took about 3-4 weeks from Amazon.com.

You've only had phones in Canada for 50 years, eh? They've been around in the U.S. since the 1800's. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

You've got to be kidding me? 8 to 10 copies? This can't be a coincidence that all the stores I went to have 0 copies of either Il2, but many copies of Lo-mac.

It's taken them 154 years to figure out how to use it..................... that's why they are Canadians http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

BTW use the web if you are in the UK, I use play.com, fast free postage and ultra reliable... arrived 2 days before UK release date as they send em out to ensure you have it on the release date.... Ordered 2 copies and DHL'd one out to my friend in Victoria Canada.... Sent from local DHL Office here, UK ( Main Airport Terminal for them) Friday dinner time and it was in his sticky paws before luch time Monday Morning..... they must have put it on the Dogsled the other end and beat the mutts to death to get it out to him that quick http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Ah yes, the age-old question: invented in Canada or the U.S.?

Everything is manufactured in the U.S.

Everything is conceived elsewhere.

I offer you this for your edification:

Q. Did Alexander Graham Bell invent the telephone in Canada or the U.S.?

A. This question rings with controversy; if you€re an American you probably were taught the phone was invented in the U.S. and if you€re Canadian you might believe it was done here.

The answer really depends on how you define the word invention. Bell moved to Brantford, Ont. in 1870 and began experiments on how to send the human voice over a wire. He moved to Boston in 1871 to teach, but kept working on his project.

For the next three years, Bell returned to Brantford often and discussed the idea of the telephone at length with his father one night in 1874. A year later he wrote the specifications for the telephone during another visit to Brantford, but it was on March 10, 1876 in Boston that he uttered the first words over a wire €œMr. Watson, come here, I want you.€

Bell also placed the first one-way long distance call in Canada later that year between Brantford and Paris, Ont, about eight miles away. If that doesn€t settle your argument remember that Bell often declared that Brantford was the home of his famous invention. In a speech in 1909 in Ottawa, he said: €œOf this you may be sure, the telephone was invented in Canada. It was made in the United States.€

Interesting points. What was his nationality? If he was american I think that would settle it. But what does it matter anyway since the Japanese and Finns have along ago stolen the market.

I live in Oslo and PF is pretty much available in almost any decent PC game shop. I guess this is a fairly global situation.

However, the full experience really requires IL2FB+AEP as well. Those are pretty rear to find in the shops. I found IL2FB at one place but AEP is pretty much out of sight everywhere. It is strange UBI doesn't try to promote those games when introducing PF. One would think there could be some added sales. Also, the box doesn't even mention the possibility of merging the two games in a common installation. Odd in my opinion. The guy in the shop didn't have a clue about that possibility either.

Hunter and others on the other side of the counter maybe have some other insight?

Well if you want to use that logic, you don't really get bragging rights. England is really mostly of germanic and nordic descent, with a bit of italian and french thrown in for good measure. Credit should be given to your, Anglo-saxon-danish-norwegian-roman-norman forefathers. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/mockface.gif

www.flightsimcentral.com (http://www.flightsimcentral.com) can get you any sim ( including PF ) in about 2 or 3 days if you live in the 48 state or Canada. They can even get sims to Australia and Japan in about a week if need be. I have gotten loads of stuff from them and they are always fast, fast, fast. I checked and they have PF too. They also have joysticks and other hardware. Forget Amazon, unless you want to wait a long time.

Yea, I'm having a hard time finding PF too. Locally Wal-mart is the only place that sell pc games and it doesn't have it. (although it does have Microsoft Combat Flight Sim) http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif

Nearest place that might have it is a hour and a half away. I know I could just order it but I hate ordering things.

Anyways, it's been another week and the 5 stores near me, EB Games, Compu Center, FUTURE SHOP (!!), and Best buy don't have them and some haven't even heard of this Pacific Fighters.

OH well, atleast Half life 2 is out, I'll unload my time into that for now.
