'Ello everyone, I thought it'd be kool/interesting to see what all the different kinds of fads were in all the different countries when you guys were in primary skool (grade 1 - 6)..

For example, at the skools around me in Australia, EVERYONE had one of these :

Digimons (http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/518PKST0TWL._SL500_AA280_.jpg)

It was crazy, thats all we did, just battle all lunch! so lame..they ended up getting banned at skool because people were crying when their monster thing would die lol!

So post here what you and all your friends had to pass the time in the intense subjects and in the playground!

Yu-Gi-Oh was big when we were little kids? Psh, I knew some kids in seventh and eighth grade that were mad obsessed with Yu-Gi-Oh. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

But then again, sometimes I break out my Gameboy Color and play Pokemon Yellow. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif What can I say, it's fun. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

Wait, that was 8th grade. Hmm, well, I guess yoyo's were a fad at my school, in addition to everything else mentioned above ('cept the Rubik's Cube).

P.S. I also found a holofoil Charizard once. Then I traded it for a bunch of other lame cards http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif I've actually still got all my oldschool Pokemon cards under my bed. Anyone want them?

Definitely Pokemon and Gameboy. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I remember I had all first 250 Pokemon cards. Everyone in my school would kill for them. xD I should've never sold them. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Now there's like a ton of Pokemon. They suck now. -_-

We had pogs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pogs) until they were banned at school because they were considered a type of gambling.

What else... Power Rangers, TMNT... that's all I can remember having right now aside from My Little Ponies.

Pokemon is the thing I remember, although it was more like 6-8 grade.

I never really got into it, with the exception of seeing how many cards I could amass without ever buying one.(I managed ~100)

Anybody remember Beast Wars? That was the best. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Oh yeah, and LEGOs. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

My brother and I each used to have like a Gigantanormasaurus Rex tub to keep both our LEGOs in. And then one day I got the smart idea that we should both dump them all in a huge pile and have a hall race. Whoever got to it first got the whole dump.

And he ended up winning. >_< Then I told my mom and she made us sit down and sort out each and every stinkin' piece for which one was mine and which one was his... It felt like it took us forever, lol...

He still has all his Star Wars sets up in his closet (the pod racers, Darth Maul's starship, all the good stuff) and I wanted to get it out and play with it so bad. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Beast Wars was a 3D series that was the prequel to Transformers.

Instead of vehicles, they were all creatures. Good guys were the Maximals (all mammal group) and the bad guys were the Predicons (bugs, dinosaurs, and a reptile or two.)

It's totally awesome. I still like it lol.

I can't put up a link to Wikipedia right now because my Internet is stuck, but you should definitely head over and give it a read. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Yo-yos were really popular around here for a few years.

I was only about seven or eight, so I never really understood how the concept worked. (I got the part about throwing it down and all, but it was coming back up that I didn't really catch onto.) So I always just threw it down and then had to wrap the string back in every time. XD

And then they came out with the "X-Brain" yo-yo that would let you stall for a long time and would wind back up on its own. Needless to say, I still didn't get the concept. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Aye, the motors were pretty sweet (especially the solar-powered one). I think the most creative/original thing I made with K'NEX was a replica of Gerry Anderson's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supercar_(TV_series)) Supercar (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQnO2h-ATaQ)

For me it was

Yu-Gi-Oh! for a while but I am homeschooled so I didn't play lots just frequent battles against my one friend(I acctually never owned my own cards either he just used to split his cards when we played :P) and I watched every episode of the 1st series. I even got gloves without fingers to replicate the gloves they used in the 1st series!
Anyway needless to say my interets had long waned away by the second season.

I also went through the Yo-Yo craze along with a spinning top craze. Then it was skateboarding and K-Nex. I think I have finally found PCs to be my true long term interest. And I'm thinking of taking skateboarding p again because I don't play sport so I need something for exercise.

I also collected those progs(called Tazos when I was collecting them) but I collected the ones out of the Potato Crisp packets. I collected all the metal ones which was quite cool.

Well it was better than staring at the wall and laughing. Mario Brothers was prob the best game it had going for it. Also I remember Zelda being really fun. Also Metroid was fun and . You had to keep blowing into the cartridges to get them to work though.

Lol I remember people with those. I didn't do that, but I did put cardboard on the frame near the back wheel so when I rode it, it hit the spokes and sounded like a motorcycle http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

I tried that b4 but it annoyed me so I took the cards out. My 1st bike had training wheels that fell off and I hit a tree. After that the metal bars that held the wheels would scrap the ground if I turned too sharp and sparks would fly.

Invader Zim, Rugrats, Rocko's Modern Life & Aaaahhhh! Real Monsters were the ones I loved watching. Doug was pretty cool, too. *sigh* nostalgia...

As for the new shows, iCarly's not too bad. Nor is The Fairly Oddparents. Everything else that's on is terrible, though.
