.....in "Sky Captain and the World of Tommorow".

Gotcha! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/mockface.gif

Actually, I felt it was a cool movie and liked the the scenery. Although I don't fly the P-40, I think it's one of the nicest looking planes. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

But that P-40 is slightly "uber" me thinks. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

The P-40 is no doubt one of the coolest looking WW2 fighters. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

The movie wasn't that good, but interesting.

I liked the movie cause it combined modern technology with the old movie style. I personally thought it was a work of art. I have never liked modern fiction unless it was somewhat extreme.

This movie is what you get when you mix cheese and technology. The things we appreciate from the old movies were in the movie: cheesy lines, cheesy names, and cheesy situations. But the best part of the movie, by far, was the uber cheesy P-40. Very cool. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

P-40 is my favourite WWII a/c, hands down. If she's in the film, I'll give it a try.

I love this movie, real old style, good jokes, good actors!
And at least a good german wretch http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif - running out of them...

http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif ha ha ha, yes, lets not forget "Totenkopf"(Skull). That cracked me up.

You gotta admit, his Asian assistant was cute though. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I also tried the submersible P-40 in PF but couldn't find the "u-plane" botton. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

I also had a good laugh when they landed on the aircraft carrier at an alt of about 6000m. These things were being lifted by 4 relatively small horizontally installed props, 1 at each corner. During the attack one is hit and blown away. The officer reports to the captain "Sir, we are losing altitude.". I thought to myself, "kick on leg out from under a table and see what happens.". http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

I enjoyed the movie and having watched it 5 times already(I have the dvd)I still look forward to seeing it again. It the way they made this movie that makes it good. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

It's kinda like being a kid again and watching TV on Saturday morning.

When I fly the P-40, it is indeed UBER. When I fly against the P-40 I know its uberitude, so it's easy to defend against. But anyway, yeah. The P-40 is a fun plane to fly, especially the later versions, (even though the earlier versions look cooler, and are still VERY deadly) When those MG's open up, there's not a thing below them that will survive.

There is a weakness to the P-40 though. It doesn't work alone. You must have a wingman or wingmen. Someone should always be on top cover. And when one dives down the other must stay high. When that one dives down, the other P-40 should be climbing back up.

Doesn't that tactic go with all planes? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

When I'm working with a partner I do the same thing. When the enemy, if he's lucky, escapes my partners attack I go in right away before the enemy can get a good posture. Then once I've made my attack my partner goes in for another attack. Seemed like the best way in all the planes I've flown.

Any fighter that John Belushi has flown (see film "1941") is OK in Blutarski's book .....

If you want to play Sky Captain, here's the thing to do:

Set yourself up in a P-40E in QMB on the Smolensk map at low level. Set your opponents as 16 Ace Go-229's. See what you can do.

Lol I'm here, I'm here don't you worry http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The movie, if a bit unrealistic, is still a lot of fun to watch, just for the P-40 scenes. I love his little airbase, and I noticed some B-24 Liberators on the deck!!! Din anyone else?

Would love to have his P-40 though, being submersible and all http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif
