I went ahead and hopped into the VFC coop last night, and as you can tell by the title of my topic, it r0xx0red b0xx0rz. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

The missions and planesets we're really neat, but in my opinion what makes VFC coop as much fun as it is is the general quality of people who participate(I know because I often fly with and am on comms with a lot of the people who participated, and the ones with whom I wasn't familiar with seemed pretty cool too), and the fact that TX Squadron(Another great bunch of guys) is nice enough to reserve a channel on their TS server for people who participate, pimped out with both a blue and a red channel http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

My roomate wanted me to help him study so I wasn't able to stick around long, but the couple of missions I stuck around for were a plenty'O'fun.

I believe VFC coops are every saturday night(correct me if I'm wrong Ivan).

I recommend it to everybody for all the reasons I mentioned above, and also because you could nag at CrazyIvan about "FM's" and "DM's" and "Oleg" and "2 weeks" through teamspeak! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_redface.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Thanks for hosting CrazyIvan, and thanks for TS TX!

Regards,
Fish

Last night was the first time, I've played a COOP of that size and been on comms with most of them! I had a great time! The TS was filled with very knowledgable people who were very helpful in the NOOB questions I have. It's cool that someone like me, who has had the game for a month, can fly about with the vets and not get flamed! The biggest plus was to watch the action and try and learn some things after I had been shot down rather quickly lol. Thanks for the COOP VFC and others who made it so much fun!!

I've played on VFC a lot in the past but last night was the second time in a row I had to drop out because of an odd bug. Maybe someone knows what's wrong?

When the game launched the "ready" list screen popped up in my view (just floating there in the cockpit...and I'm only VFR rated) after a few seconds.

Not the list from hitting the "S" key...the last one see before launching the game where you see what players are ready and all.

Twice in a row bites, and since this has never happened when I've played before does anyone have any ideas? It doesn't happen anywhere else either. Just VFC.

oh joy. Robin is back. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

VFC is pretty much the only coop I fly. I'm not a huge fan of coops, but VFC makes it tollerable and enjoyable.

Civil Dog you proble is a know bug. Some have experienced it also.Unfortunately at this time no one knows what causes it nor is there a fix.

I too have had this happen.Since I do not fly other coops I do not know if it limited to VFC coops.

Thanks. Fortunately it's only happened twice - so far. I'd never seen it before.

It's actually been a rather common occurance, and not just in VFC coops either. I got it once quite some time ago, but never had it again.

Only option you have is to abort or wait, since sometimes it decides to miraculously take the ready screen away. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif

Yep its fun for sure. My problem is they are Hosted between two 12 hours work days for me. So Friday if I show its for only one flight, and Saurday I'm just so dang tired after a weeeks work I often don't even try. But I did this week and it was fun for sure. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

Yep, expect to have to drag me along for your coops from now on Ivan, I'll be hoppin' aboard with you guys when I can. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

BTW, please do hop in sometime Sir Robin, I jump at the opportunity to learn from his 1337n355 http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-indifferent.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

And whats this about Leadspitter calling me an "rmutt"? Is this some sort of IL2 community insult I've yet to understand? How do I respond? Will calling him a n00b suffice, or do I need to get fancy? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Regards,
Fish

(Btw, I've had the sim for almost four months not two...I'm not THAT much of a n00b):P

I've flown in VFC-Coops quite a bit. I started with FB and FB/AEP and continued with FB/AEP/PF. I love it. I was away from it for awhile when I was having problems with PF 3.03m and 3.04m which I finally got sorted out, seems my agp system driver got corrupted and after a re-install of that driver I'm back up in running without too many lockups and my fps are in the 45~60 fps range again and very playable, albeit <sp> still with a few microstutters.

I try to never miss the oppurtunity to fly with Crazyivan and the regulars and appreciate VFC-HOST very much.

I'm really a poor dogfighter, more of a mud-mover and the variety of missions will satisfy most anybody. Just recently I got TS setup and joined in. You can learn quite alot. I don't say much on comms because I really don't have much to add. I used to be afraid to ever say anything but after flying and listening to the guys that fly in VFC-Coops, I'm not any more. The gentlemen or very nice and willing to help noobs as well as pathetic <sp> flyers such as myself.

I would recommend to people to try whenever they can even if that means there is no room for myself to join.

Thank you again Crazyivan and your wonderful VFC-HOST.

One more thing. I record tracks evertime and play them back to learn from. There are some great pilots flying in these coops. Worth joining just for the education alone.

I would like to take this apportunity and thank VFC*Korolov, VFC*RMutt, JV44*Boelcke and MajorDeath for outstanding series of COOPs that they built for the HOST. Just wanted to point out that VFC*HOST is not just crazyivan...it`s an truly team effort of several people.

Those guys are really made it happened, me.. i am just a hardware guy and coordinator ... or VFC COOPs night moderator http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif. Right now we have over 120 COOPs, but operational ones are only 25 or so. Others are being adjusted by Boelcke in order to increase number of flyable planes to 30 per COOP (They are for 22-24 people now). Also, RMutt is making several COOPs based on real life ecounters that should be completed in the nearest future http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Even mighty Extreme_One is making one COOP for us based on Stalingrad http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

When Boelcke is done with adjusting players numbers we will organize those COOPs into packages... 6 COOPs per package that contains Eastern, Western and Pacific scnerios (2 of each). That way we can run 1 package per night to avoid repetition http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif unless something was requested specifically. That`s the plan.

As long as at least one allows me to fly the IL2m3 to pound the Hun with I'll be happy. There's just something about blasting the snot out of panzers that makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside and it's rare that anybody has these available to fly.

And maybe some MiGs over Moscow? I-16's and Emils, too?
