I generally think it's gay to bring up people's spelling, but dude... dude! May I suggest you open your windows when using plastic cement.

Fordfan usually spells better, Longjocks. Just look the date: it's NEW YEAR, and I guess someone mixed something with his Coca-Cola... http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I'm considering taking up the hobby of WW2 scale modelling, specifically Fighter aircraft and warships.

every now and then iv found them at walmart but its rare to find them http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif. i have no hobbie shops were i live.

My local Walmart has a predictably limited selection and I have no ready access to a suitably equipped specialist hobby shoppe

iv seen quit a few guys in hear that have posted pics of there moddles thay have put to gather and or expresed interst in them so thought someone might know of a good safe online store to buy them at.

My interest has been piqued by various posts/discussions in these forums which often include tantalising images of completed work. Since there seem to be a number of modelling ethusiast regulars here, I wonder whether one/or more of those worthies might point me in the direction of quality online supplier.

i would prefer it be in the US because of shiping cost. im not looking for the real large pricey stuff. looking for fighter an bombers as well a cap ships like DD's any suggestions?

I would prefer said supplier to be located in the US, due to the userous rates often charged for overseas shipping. My preference is for mid range, well priced kits of fighters, bombers and warships - the latter of at least Destroyer size. Any suggestions gratefully received.

"Shoppe" is an old style, snobby, spelling of shop. I slung it in there to increase the priggish tone of the re-write http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Salute!

Go with squadron.com, they have a kick butt catalog that has tons of good stuff, and for only $5 US. It even gives you catalogs to other model manufactures. I get mostly all my aftermarket parts from there, makes them look more realistic. Hobby Lobby is also a good place to look if one is around.

Do you want to build them yourself or???????
There are some great 1:18th models from 21st century toys that come already built and are almost as detailed as the ones you put together.
Plus they are huge and alot less work.
Try this link for just one online store that has them. E-bay is another great place to shop for them.

You can also try www.greatmodels.com (http://www.greatmodels.com) and www.militaryhobbies.com (http://www.militaryhobbies.com). Check to see if there is a hobby shop near you.
