View Full Version : Wildcat and Ki-61 max dive speed

I checked max dive speed Wildcats in PF 3.02 - 690-700km/h. I think that these is to little speed. As i know Wildcats have no limit dive speed in manuals. Maby someone have info about these?
Other hand Ki-61 has 840-850 km/h mas dive speed in PF which seemed to be too good. Ki-61 is has better max dive speed then Bf 109 E and F. I think somethig is wrong here.

Hopefully that will get fixed in the official patch when it comes out.

The Ki-61 is very well known for it's high dive speed limit. And that is not only by Japanese standards. It could dive with the best the US had to offer.

Don't know how much that is in kph, though. Could be anything from 750 to 900. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

I know that Ki-61 has good max dive speed like for japanese plane but still i cant belive that have better safe dive than BF 109 E or F which we have in PF. As i remebmer planes like Bf 109 and Spitfire in 1941-1942 have speed limit in manuals 750 km/h. I think that Ki-61 shouldn't have better. 750 km/h for japanese plane in these year should be very good score.

well , in 3.02b the Ki61 are in the same maxDivespeed class like Fw190A4 , Bf109F .

who knows, and why not , its design is around the same time ore actually later. prototype of Ki61 flew December 41.

A lot of "thinking" going on here with no actual knowledge...

exactly !
getting datas from japanese planes is horror.
the only way is to give the maddox team a hint to watch again and check - they are not perfect http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

theres many problems like that all usn ac are breaking up incrediably early, so are the p39s and all p40 models, also they are freezing up control surfaces while thier data charts show the opposite increased manuverability higher speed.

The 109s are now breaking up at 900kmph so are the russian wooden models which is just wrong another thing is the 109 controls suffered higher speeds the 190s were much better higher speed manueverability then 109s but not low speed.

Also to me the ki61 feels like a slow slug and is not reaching its speeds or charts in roll dive climb etc but its much faster then the wrong speed of the usn ac. I dunno guess we have to wait for the patchs, also the ki84 suffered from 50lbs of stick pressure past 300mph and show controlls suffered terribly in here its a ufo at all speeds.

lead, me and biggs22 did a race with zero5b (biggs22) and me in ki61, prolly the last version on the list. zero pulled out 500metres or something very very quickly, biggs then aborted stating "it wasnt fair"

ki61 weights more than e/f, and theres no dead weight in planes.

the 5b can dive to 460mph (which IS correct) infact it breaks at exactly that speed :| engine overspeeds before that tho http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif
