Again.. searched turned up no results like this, so forgive me if its already been posted. So, like the BF109 thread.. Discuss which model of the FW190's do you think is the best OVERALL.

What is wrong with them? They work great for me. Personally I like the A9 with the dual in wing mk108's and the F8 for Jabo missions.

pesonally i think the 190's aer the best ride in the game for JABO and bomber intercept and quite acceptable for fighter use

I suspect the issues many people have are more to do with a perceived lack-lustre performance 1vs1 in online dogfight servers

There Usable & I Use them with great efficancy In Online DF servers I normaly get 3 to 5 Kills Per flight

one of them being a 500 Pound bomb on some unsuspecting sole then I race off back too the stratosphere where I commence to B&Z

you better start off with @least 3300/3500 Minimum Altitude
& hope the server has thoes danged Jets & Rockets disabled they ruin the sim for Fw as thoes bastad jets come hunting Fw all the time.

The A5 is awsome good for turning if you must but markably slower than A9, The A9 Rules(hard to turn), Dora1944 is very nice (Best mix Of Speed & Lowspeed Turning)

Heck realy there all good depends on what you want too do

Cant say much about the A8/A4 As I havent flown it much in FB

Good luck

The '44 D9 is excellent, and should be even better after the patch once (hopefully) its climb rate, elevator authority and 20mm punch improves. Its very good in the vertical and quite agile at lower speeds. Its also tough.

I'd say if the K4 is cut down to size a little the D9 will be a close competitor.

Plus the engine sound kicks *** /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

In full realism, speed is usually the best thing you can have. So in that realm the A9 is the absolute master over all other piston engined fighters in FB. But it probebly won't stay that way after the patch. Regardless, it is the best overall plane in my oppinion. While the D9 Late is better suited for conventional dogfights, the A9 is a better bomber destroyer and fighter-bomber. If you are looking for a plane to do anything you need it to, the A9 is the best choice. If you are mostly going to be fighting other fighters, then the D9 late is a better choice do to improved low altitude performance and agility. For dedicated ground attack, the F8 is a good pick. However, these are all late war versions, if you fly in 1942 and 1943 servers then I suggest you simply take the latest model availible. The A4 is half the plane the A5 is, and the A8, A9 and D9's put the A5 to shame. For ground attack in the early versions, the A4/R1 and A5/R1 are the best versions. They only add a bomb and bombrack, they don't reduce armament or add any additional armour like the U varients do. Its worth noting that the U varients arn't actually Fw 190A's, they are Fw 190F's (bomber) and Fw 190G's (long range escort and long range fighter-bomber).

As we all know, the Soviet Union had too many fighter pilots during WW2. So Stalin's scientists came up with a brillient way to solve this problem. They would make some of their pilots fly British made Hurricanes. The Hurricane was an uber flying coffin. It was designed to maximize pilot kills by providing nothing but fabric and a few wooden spars around the cockpit. This setup prevented the pilot from escaping easily while at the same time not interfering with enemy bullets and shrapnel trying to pass through it. The rest of the Hurricanes structure was designed to ricochet bullets and shrapnel into the cockpit. And thanks to the cockpits superb design, all of them would pass through the cockpit and the pilot inside with little difficulty. Of course the Hurricane's designers didn't stop there. In order for the Hurricane to become a flying coffin, they had to make it easy to shoot. They did this by making the Hurricane the slowest monoplane fighter in use at the time and even gave it a very bulky shape so that it would be easy to spot and hit. The final feature of the Hurricane was its ability to bury or cremate itself. And because it was made of biodegradable materials, the Hurricane was environmentally friendly after it buried itself. Because of these brillient features, the Hurricane was a perfect flying coffin and helped the Soviets solve the pilot surplus they were suffering.

Definitely the most beautiful is the Dora!

I like the Dora, the '44 version the best myself. After i get tired of the 109 i'll use Dora for a few nights and have alot of fun diving like a bat out of heck on to some poor unsuspecting SOB then zooming off never to be seen again

My favorite FW-190? I don't think it'll ever appear in a game since it never was mass produced in the first place but it was a great plane that could even match the ME-262 in high altitude combat, except that it's engine was more reliable than the jet engine.

I'm talking about the TA-152H1 which happens to be a redesigned FW-190 whose purpose is in fact high altitude dogfight, it was armed with a MK 108 two inboard MG 151/20 and two optional outboard MG 151/20

It's maximum speed was 755 km/h or 472 mph if you prefer, climb rate was 1000 m/min or 3300 ft and it's engine was the Jumo 213E-1 which yielded 2250hp

I would have been a very impressive fighter had it been mass produced and especially a threat to the US VIII Air Force Escort Fighters
