The operative word is 'some'. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif Now if only some of that can be put to other governing issues.

And I was just thinking to myself that it's been a long time on this board since somebody posted nationalistic drivel. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

So, pointing out what one feels to be a good decision by a national government along with a bit of sarcasm and criticism directed at one's own government which, in that one's opinion, lacks (at least in this respect) the previously mentioned government's superior decision making, is now considered "nationalistic drivel"?

Many, many people have paid the price so I can criticize my own government so feel free to STFU when I do it in the future.

Thanks so much.

The article was OK, your "insightful" commentary was unnecessary. I guess I served in Afghanistan and Iraq and missed 9 months of my firstborn's first year of life so people like you can criticize. But if you don't mind, I won't "STFU". Classy.

It's widely accepted amongst the academic community that your country is either run by a ****** or some kind of monkey.

Just FYI, the foremost technology transfer I had in mind when making my "insightful" commentary was 100% military in nature and it went almost directly to an enemy nation, just like many of the others before and since that were given to that particular foreign company. You can thank old man Bush for those. Note that I am in no way limiting these types of actions to him. His are simply the ones I am aware of.

Yep, you sure did. That's what "...defend the constitution..." is all about and those of us who understand what that sacrifice means are deeply appreciative. I will not, however, keep silent while our government sells and/or gives away both military and private technologies at a ridiculous rate. Serving/lack thereof does not determine the right to criticize.

I do mind if your only comment is to make ridiculous claims like, "...nationalistic drivel..." (not sure how that can be anyway since I'm not Canadian). While there was no way for you to know exactly what I was complaining about the linked information directly applies to technology related to national security so it shouldn't be too hard to get the gist of my point.

it isn't nationalist drivel Huggy, it is about Canadian jobs getting shipped south of the border, and their was a large public outcry here, so the gov't had to stop it. You Americans don't like the Chinese taking your jobs, so why do you think us Canucks would like you guys to take our jobs.

Ah, academia, so smart, so lacking basic common sense....

No wonder they charge outrageous amounts to indoctrinate our youth.

What militaries couldn't defeat, they rot from the inside. Brilliant.

"Academia" teaches our kids to be stupid. It's the flawed "thinking" drilled into their minds that is poisoning our future.

They'll do more damage than you ever thought Bush could do. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Agreed to a certain extent but not completely. I was being silly anyway.
