Rookie here - reporting for duty...

Does anyone still fly these sims - i've just got pf and have patched it - now i'm eager to try flying online...

(Ihave IL2, IL2 forgotten battles and Pacific fighters as stand-alone installs)
(i have not got AEP)

is there any place that fly just the standalone pf?

i maybe brave enough to use the standard online play part of the game - haven't checked the game too far - just flew, then ended, then downloaded the patches (thanks Tully) and i'm here now...

I would like to sample online play before paying out for another version - AEP i think i'm missing...

Go to:
http://hyperfighter.sk/

Download Hyperlobby, install.

There is a Pacific Fighters Standalone room.

It does not have many people in it but there are some.

If Hyperlobby cannot find PF just exit and reopen Hyperlobby but hold ctrl and shift then hit CONNECT.

This opens a window to allow Hyperlobby to search for the correct path to PF.

When it finds your PF install just click SAVE and then connect.

If you decide online is for you and need more bodies to fly against go get AEP, add it to FB and then install PF on top of the heap and you are ready to jump into the big fray.

Good Luck.

You can get the AEP for $9.99 at Comp USA ...... I highly recomend it as most of the servers online fly the meged install and since you have FB already...... If you are in The US you can also go to your local Comp USA.. they may have them on the shelves...

LOL - more freaks - hehehe I'm known a MiniFreak - due to my fettish for the Classic Mini (UK car)...

I am biting the bullet and am searching for AEP - to purchase online...

I have now played IL2 FB and PF online using both "eye" and "hyperlobbly" - it is quality...

Can't wait to fly against more than 10-15 planes lol - is there a squadron i can join - preferably one that offers training..?

i'm just past the "sky/ground/sky/ground/bang" phase - so i should be in flight long enough to spot the planes that shoot me down roflmao...

there seems to be a group called VFC or something - they can actually shoot the pilot - i swear there was no damage on the plane - just before the screen went black - but the pilot (me) was dead - didn't even see a tracer lol... great stuff...

Hey Mini- You're cracking me up! Your description of the shoot-down reminds me of Hartmann in his book; If I remember the quote, to paraphrase, he said "I wait until the enemy aircraft fills the windscreen, then every shot counts." His plane captain survived the war too. Hartmann's best shot was a Yak with only THREE rounds fired, MG fire too, not cannon, Obviously a head shot, From all accounts he was probably about ten meters behind the Yak before opening fire. All the best, Longhorn

One of their members is Crazyivan1970, one of the moderators here. They don't recruit .... or at least haven't done for over a year.

Hi there,

I am also new to this game, been flying a couple of months, when I asked the same question I got this link
http://www.joint-ops.com/joil2fb/
It is a place that is not a squadren at all, BUT they will teach you how to fly and put you in touch with a great bunch of lads.

I personally have learnt heaps there. So check it out, they are REALLY helpfull, and very patient.
