Check out this 'Adrenalin Rush' video and also this guy's other 'A Shot in a Million' on You Tube. Click the 'full screen' button, forgive the quality and enjoy his wonderful editing of the dog-fight, probably one of the most impressive short Il2 films I've ever seen, fantastic stuff Monty-Dan http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/clap.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/clap.gif

Great video, very nice editing. Wish those were real IL2 sounds.

YouTube.com kinda sucks as far as video quality.
If you want to watch this at a higher quality please go to Gamerz Theatre-DivX Version (http://www.gamerztheatre.com/content/view/294/82/)

Indeed Monty-Dan did a great job with this short movie.

Hopefully BoB will have such immersive sounds. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/inlove.gif

Very nice, but are those engine sounds for real, I have been flying IL-2 for years and I have never heard Spit/Me109/P47 engine sound like that? I am I missing something????

Monty-Dan captures his scene with no sound at first, then adds real aircraft sounds (SFX) using an video editor like Adobe Premiere, or Sony's Vegas software.

Thats very clever, should employ him as the sound engineer on the BOB project, The last time that I heard a P47 sound like that was on the old Janes World War 11 Fighters

Here is picture of adding SFX to a video. I was the sound editor (SFX), for Faith Hope & Charity that was released on June 16, 2007.

That was very impressive. The sound editing was incredible. At the very least, this short film shows what SoW:BoB could be. Ubi should hire this guy to make promotional videos. Excellent work.

You can see all of Monty-Dan's movies here.
Flight Sim Machinima (http://flightsimmachinima.blogspot.com/)
Also you can look at other IL-2 filmmakers here also. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Another movie to look at using FS-2004 is Duelality by Lenny Wilson (http://files.filefront.com/Duelalitydivx/;7982565;;/fileinfo.html)
Exhilarating dual in the desert between an Su-27 Flanker and an F-15 Eagle. Directed in a very fast paced and exciting music video style.

What Monty-Dan did is very well done...but dubbing audio over a video track is "easy" (still takes a fair bit of work) compared to making audio work in a dynamic game environment.

Yes sound can be better in Storm of War but don't expect it to sound like that. Not till they start building audio processors that either can use a CPU core in a multicore CPU or have their own full on processing unit that has power like a graphics card.

Very nice. I like the use of the music and sound effects. Camera work was good too.
Also, while the battle was pretty one sided, one could almost be forgiven for thinking that 109 was piloted by a Human. I thought it was pretty realistic in its moves, though flying high while being chased is never a great plan.

Very nice.
I didn't bother with the youtube as those washed out things are annoying at best.
Went to the other site, and, if that were a trailer for some movie coming out this summer, I'd be standing in line. (thats merican for dam good job)

I have that program (Sony Vegas) but not much of a clue on how to do what MD did with his films. I need to find me a good Vegas tutorial.

That was awesome... Was that music from Battlestar Gallactica? It is amazing the difference that just the engine sounds makes in the feel of things. This sim is awesome.

Did anyone check out his other film I mentioned, "A Shot in a Million" , pretty good too !

I came across it by accident via CustomPC's article on the hardest 10 games, of which IL2 ranked number 3 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif

oh, awwwwwwesome!!!!

he transformed a boring offline fight vs AI into a hollywood-grade scene...

now think what will happen if he make another serious production with some storyline and real dog fight tactics....

His message on the little movie.

"I produced this video simply as a personal record of my single Cockpit Only View kill with no icons and 30mm cal guns only, which took me over 100 attempts flying the same mission. I have got to applaud all you regular Cockpit View only flyers who get regular kills never again for me, to difficult and frustrating. "

Cockpit only isn`t that hard, m8, just time and patience. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

I`d also like to know where the music`s from - would help towards artwork.

I spent about a year using the mouse in full cockpit mode before getting into TIR... it`s only as hard as your mind allows.

I had the time tonight to watch the hi-rez version. It really is amzing work. The editing and sound effects are some of the best I've ever seen. I honestly reminded me of a Dogfights! episode. The views, camera cuts and flybys were as good as seen in that show. I really dug the bullet strike and ricochet sounds.

You call this dogfight!? More like spit shooting at a really lame bf109 - no evasive action, no corckscrewing, no flaps or reducing speed...

Hi Guys,

Zappatime has only just made me aware of this thread on Adrenalin Rush, great comments guys and really appriciated http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

The person telling me that Cockpit Flying is easy should remenber that i am a movie maker not a flyer, my total hours flying in the last 3 years would total no more than 100 i guess. So, to make Adrenalin Rush was a nightmere for me http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/53.gif i had not flown for over 12 months then straight into Cockpit Only....why the hell did i do that http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif

Anyhow, even though it took me longer to down the BF than make the movie it all seems to have worked out ok

Here is a link to all my movies that can be watched via Hi-Res streaming

in the last 5 seconds , we needed to see the lead Ai Ace E4 come diving down at 700 km/h with all guns blazing & rip the Spitfire in half . . . . .

then it would have been Awesome !
