View Full Version : Periscope and spotting

Hello there.

This is probably been discussed earlyer, but Ill ask anyways. When you are in periscope depth naturally the sonar fellow informs you of new contacts. But if you keep your periscope up and add timecompression does your crew tell you "ship spotted" as if you were on surface?

If you want to know if the little menue with the three options appears then no, it won't happen as this is bound to the WO on a surfaced ship.

If you're in time compression with the Nav map, the popup menu, when a ship is spotted, will come up asking what you want to do.

Be careful if you select the Deckgun as they will start blasting away, even if you're futher away than you'd like to be. I've seen them fire from a distance to target of over 5,000 meters. It usually ends up a big waste of your shells if the AI crew is in charge. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif
