Is there anything else I need? I updated my FB+AEP+PF to 4.05m, will get 4.07m as soon as I can. I installed Il2 Manager 5.0 and Il2 Stab 6.2. Is there anything else that's a must have for Il2 only? (so that means no hyperlobby, joystick config, voice activation)

I tried Il2-MAT but got an error when I tried to load the program, probably because I downloaded Il-2 Mat 2.36 update, do I need a previous install to get it to work, is so where?<div class="ev_tpc_signature">

Well one thing-

about going from 4.05 to 4.07

It can't be done http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif You need 4.06

The DVD called Il2:Sturmovik:1946, which is called "'46" by everyone here, actually has 4.06 on it as well. When or if you get that, your sim will be up to the latest version, 4.07m

But bear in mind that there are also two downloads- one for 4.06m and one for 4.07m- that should become available shortly.

If you have 4.05m and then download 4.07m, you won't be able to play. The 4.07m download won't contain 4.06m. 4.06m is seperate

if you buy the DVD package for "'46", you're all set, the sim updates and 4.07m is your version, it takes care of everything up to 4.07

if you do the download thing, be very aware that the download "46" does not caointaon everything the DVD does. It contains literally the 4.07m version, and that's all

C:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles\Users\

Then look for whatever name you put in the pilots menu. If you create multiple pilots you can create multiple settings.

These are some good links. You already have Stab & Manager.. some of the others are particularly good.

Mission Mate in particular is a great tool. Youwill never need the QMB again. The UQMG is another mission builder.. bioth are IMO Essential downloads.

Hardball's Aircraft Viewer (http://www.airwarfare.com/Sims/FB/fb_essential_files.htm#014) an online version of the guide basically.. both are very good.
Mission Mate (http://mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=8)

It comes with an extensive help file and is pretty easy to use once you doit a few times.
Fraps (http://www.airwarfare.com/Sims/FB/fb_essential_files.htm#010)- A quick and easy way to measure your frames per second and create short videos.
IL2 Manager 5.0 (http://www.airwarfare.com/Sims/FB/fb_essential_files.htm#022) This utility will allow you to make certain adjustments within the config file.. like graphics setting etc. on a gui. While it is highly recommended that you learn where these things are in the config file, once you know that... easy and quick is the way to go. It also has a stick editor which will allow you to set up different profiles for your joystick sensitivity settings.
IL2 Stab (http://www.airwarfare.com/Sims/FB/fb_essential_files.htm#024) Similar to IL2 Manager but without the stick editor and with a Diary feature.
VAC (http://www.airwarfare.com/Sims/FB/fb_essential_files.htm#047)- <span class="ev_code_red">V</span>oice <span class="ev_code_red">A</span>ctvated<span class="ev_code_red">C</span>ommands - This utility is very similar to SHOOT.. it allows you to interact with your PCand thus the sim with voice commands. Very usefull in coops. A bit tricky.. but a good program.
COOP Generator (http://www.airwarfare.com/Sims/FB/fb_essential_files.htm#005) - A random COOP genrator. I have yet to use it but it looks interesting.
Sniper's Corner (http://ourworld.cs.com/Abra772/SC_2_Eng.zip) a nice utility to help get the angles aspect of A2A gunnery in your head - Gunnery at AW.C (http://www.airwarfare.com/tactics/tactics_fwgunnery.htm)-A good explenation of the tool and what is does. Also this entire section at AW.C is a really good resource.

There are lots more but are good starting points.

Just for your information, if you have a DVD burner you can make a backup of the complete IL2 directory, once your satisfied with your setup. The game runs without a registry entry, so you can simply copy it over from your DVD.
