The highest mountains can be found here:

1. Online4Summer -- small map with three very high mountains.
2. Kuban -- SE section.
3. Crimea -- near the southern coast.

Edit:
There's another one: For the Bf-109 training track Online6Island was used.

Best is KUBAN south east corner of map.

With the right plane, old and slow, you can land and takeoff on tops of some of the Kuban mountains. IL~2 and Stuka are great rides for this. TB~3 probably the most smooth. My favorite map for sight seeing. Enjoy the Normandy crop circles...crop squares too. Very pretty. You know, FB maps are more realistic looking than the so called "photo realistic" terrain. Those "realistic photo fake" maps (my name) not just look wrong, but look ugly too. WretchFest Maximus.

Are you trying to say that you can't do this in a Me-262? (http://home.arcor.de/rayluck/sturmovik/Me262-top-landing-plumps.zip)
(Track for AEP 2.04 only.)

Not as easily for the relative Newbie.

262 takes some game skill to take off from plain flat terrain. With the slower planes you can set down and take off on many more mountain tops.

I made a campaign for the I-16 in good old IL-2 Sturmovik where you had to take off and land on some of the mountains. Now in FB this campaign is almost unplayable as it's very difficult to take off outside of regular runways in slow and small planes like I-16 or Gladiator! Now you need either a large and heavy plane or a tricycle landing gear, otherwise the bumpy ground kills you.

the area in the pic below HAS BEEN REMOVED ! ! !

its now all angled mountians ! ! ! . . . . . . they changed the map in one of the patches , v1.21 i think

& AI can take off on bumpy ground but its a lot harder for humans . . . .

having coops with different senarios in mind that required strange takeoff locations has been a big fav of mine when it comes to mission building

there is just so much scope to be bothered to use a airfeild all the time

How come nobody has mentioned the 'mountain' map. It is in the FMB right?

The Kyushu (Southern Japan) map has some pretty big mountains. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Huggy, plumps mentioned it in the first reply - Online4Summer - mountains are around 3000m at the summit IIRC.
