Hello Oleg and Everyone,

I would just like to ask, what hardware and tweaks do you use on your PC to make Forgotten Battles run smooth and fast? Currently, I'm usiing a 2.4ghz with an ATI 9700 pro and SB Audigy LZ. My framerates withing the game vary from 16 fps in the heat of battle (about 16 planes in dogfights and flak and speech) to 63 fps while cruising at 3500 meters. My Video setting are Visibility=Medium, ObjectLighting=High, LandscapeLighting=High, LandscapeDetail=Excellent, ObjectDetail=Excellent, Cloud Detail=Excellent. I'm doing BiLinear Filtering, no Compression, wtih Multitexture unchecked in Custom settings everything else is left at default. With Sound, I'm using 16 channels @ 22000 sampling rate, Full Engine Mode with Sound Enhancements checked, no radio.

If possible, can you post screen shots of your Video and Sound Settings. Also screenshots of any tweaks from the conf.ini and il2setup.ini. It will be greatly appreciated.

Also, I'm still experiencing problems where there's either no speech or engine sound when I start up a Campaign. The sound will only come back if I go into the sound settings, change something, and then apply. Then I'll hear all the sounds.

Mind you, I'm not experiencing any stutters with these settings. Aside from the usual unavoidable Hard Disk pause while opjects or speech loads.

Thanking you in advance.

Thank You Sir. I will take a look but I'd still like to see what the developers have.

Thank You

With my 9700 - and 2.4 I ran excellent settings across the board with very good frams. I run at a relatively low resolution - either 1024x768x32 or 1152x864x32 with 4x aa and 2xas because I like high frame rates and, sometimes, like to fly online in perfet mode. High res eats frame rates and seems unnecessary to me with anti-aliasing available. I rarely saw frame rates in the teens. I really don't like to see it dip much below 30.

I have about half the computer u have and get a smooth game all around ( 1280x960, 32 bit, "excelent" settings). so make sure you keep at it till u get it running better. I didnt have to make any abnormal tweaks in order to keep it running well, I just had to turn off a lot of BG apps in XP and configure my vid card settings to its sweet spot.

1.6 gig Athlon
1 gig ram

If you want to work on your video card - www.rage3d.com (http://www.rage3d.com) forums - tweaking and overclocking. at your own risk of course.
