I am liking the 4.04
The pony has been my ride of choice. It is coming along nicely.

I will take whichever REAL pilots will or would endorse, as I would like to fly a sim, not a game.

i won't touch the leaked stuff so i have no clue what the unofficial patches were like

i liked 4.03 and 4.04 seems to be what 4.03 was meant to be....overall 4.xx rules over 3.xx

What if different Big-Capitals real pilots would have different opinions? (I know, sacrilegious thinking of mine, but hey, sue me for that)

This vaguely reminds me of having read about Pilots Conferences held during and/or after the war, polling on which aircraft/armament/whatever was best this or best that; and I seem to remember (vaguely, too) that there was a spread of opinions. Even when (in some case) something might be generally singled out, Big-Capitals real pilots had a... spectrum of opinions!. Oh my...! (virginally covering innocent eyes) http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

For what is worth, I'll fly 4.04 a few more days or weeks (2 wk maybe? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif), and then [possibly] I'll have a vote to cast. Right or wrong, it will mine, which is what Kuna is actually asking for.

Good poll Kuna, just like the previous one http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Cheers,
S.

In my experience real pilots flying the same aeroplane one after the other on the same day won't agree about its performance in every detail.

Technique can, for example, add or subtract a couple of knots from the stall speed.

Throw in different aeroplanes of the same type and about the best you can do is to plot a line through the middle of a load of scattered data points.

Take the Cessna 152 as an example:

I've flown 152s that climb at 300 fpm flat out, and I've flown 152s that can climb at almost 700 fpm.

I've flown 152s that'll cruise at 110 knots, and I've flown 152s that struggle to break 95.

Cleaning the bugs off the wings can buy you 5 knots sometimes, and new engines are certainly much better than old engines.

But in the cold light of day, the fact is that if you ask me about the performance of the 152 in detail, I'm liable to disagree with myself let alone anyone else, because they vary so much.

As such, if Oleg gets everything to within 10-15% of the book figures (especially on the low side), the chances are that there would have been aircraft in service with performance like that during the war.

It is interesting to note that even when pilots are rotated at random, there is considerable variation in aircraft performance. Some aeroplanes are "aces", some are hangar queens.

Not voting as to me it doesn't matter in that unless things became really rediculous I'll fly whatever is current as I fly online.....Besides the fact I am not in a position to judge either way having just "rode" in planes, and as to flying only hang-gliding and sky diving.....The latter naturally just controlled falling hehe, much what I do here when I fly.....well, without the controlled part http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Well sim pilots will disagree on flight dynamics as much as real pilots for sure, and real pilots have at least been in a f*(cking aircraft.

When the Bob flight model was incorporated into this sim it was done at the input of 40 real pilots, I will take their input over forty wannabes on this forum or any other any day of the week.

404 is excellent.

I have been really pleased with 4.04 so far. My major complaint was that oscillation induced by rudder usage was excessive for several aircraft. 4.04 fixed it.

4.04 has the advantage of being the verson ppl play online. That's a big plus for me.

For some reason, I regard the 4.01 being the best so far. 4.02,3,4 just feel to be 3.04 + listed
Torque effects and some more. But 4.01 felt like the core part of the model was different to 3.04.
In a good sense, I mean.

Hey mate is that for real, I mean does Oleg said it, or you just have "fixed" it in context? http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I'm a Pony/Dora fan.

Definitely 4.04 http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif 25lb Spits are going to become very scarce as the Pony and Dora sticks shake off the cobwebs.

4.04m is best - thanks Oleg for the corrections and new free upgrades.

I am buying the addons and the BoB when it comes without any doubt....just wish it was all here now.

all is relative http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif but 4.01 beta(?) was beautiful to me, perhaps because the first big change in flight model!

Well I think 4.04 feels pretty good to me, now that the excessive oscillations are gone - and I fly real planes. Problem is, I only fly light sports planes(Flysynthesis Texan), so I really don't know how different a heavy Warbird feels.
I think the same basic principles would apply though.....
