You seem to be bothered with the same kind of problems as I do. Check this out

And lurk around that forum... quite nice stuff there.

Hello Vorani! Depends on which aircraft you start with, some are more difficult than others, and each has it's peculiarities when it comes to the way it's displayed over the 3D map in-sim. I recommend you check-out the paint section of this forum for some tutorials and good advice, since there's much more involved with skinning than I can explain here..but it's FUN! It's also very addictive; don't be surprised if you find yourself sacrificing sleep, just to get some desired effect on your project. It's amusing the way this hobby can creep up on a person, i,e; I detested the way markings & numbers appeared on the in-sim skins, so I gradually learned to apply them to blanks to suit my tastes...then it was individual nose-art for 2 dozen of Avirex's beautiful metal B17's..and finally "taking the leap" with my first "community released" skin, the Ohka, which I highly recommend as a pleasant "first project". So give it a go! If you run into problems, you'll always have some great advice from this forum, especially from the "old-timers" who have been doing this far longer and more prolifically than I. Best of luck to you. Prost! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Just hop right in and try it. Basic skins and mods to existing skins are easy, but doing complete skins to the standard you often see available for download can be very time consuming and take considerable practice. As mentioned already, plenty of ideas and help to be had in the paint schemes forum.
