I will also be going. I only live about an hour away!

NewNewly, some of the smaller aircraft stop at the Kenosha airport for several days prior to OshKosh. In the past I've been able to see many of the WWII twin engined and single engined US aircraft upclose and personal without the mass humanity associated with the EAA.

three B-17's ... that must be an interesting sight ! Especially if they start up, taxi out and take off at the same time! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

NewNewly--you a Wisconsin boy? I'm in Madison and go to EAA most years. My oldest used to live 6 blocks from Wittman Field until he bought a house last year, but he still lives in Oshkosh--we'll be going for certain.

By the way, make that FIVE B 17's. Here's the blurb from the EAA website:

"60th anniversary of the end of World War II: The Commemorative Air Force's legendary B-29 "Fifi" leads the hundreds of vintage airplanes from that era at AirVenture, an unmatched collection of fighters, bombers and transports (including FIVE of the world's dozen flying B-17 bombers)."

Sounds like a blast! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I'll be there on Friday too, JR. I'll try looking you up at noon. You'll be sitting on a bench, wearing a red carnation, and reading the NY Times, correct?
