I transferred to the sub base at La Spezia, Italy to get away from those storms that kick up 80% of the time I went on patrol in the Atlantic.

Ahhh.. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif sailing in the beautiful blue Med ...wait its storming here too..15 meters per second....ack! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/35.gif ...and the storm last 15 days off the coast of Sicily...

OK....enough is enough. Its a game of finding targets and having fun with the deck guns also..not just sailing around looking at big waves http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Please stop the wind machine!!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif

Bad weather getting you down? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif

I engaged a convoy that was chugging through my patrol zone. Used all my tubes, and sank a VW Destroyer, Tribal Destroyer, Passenger liner, C3 cargo & T3 tanker. I have hit (but not sunk) a T2 tanker & a troop transport. The last remaining escort, a VW destroyer also took a torpedo in the butt (or is it aft/stern), and prompty turned away from charging me. Now it hides in front of the convoy as I follow the fleet from 2500m behind. Over 60 000 tons sank so far (sank a few on the way over with my deck gun).

I reported the convoy to BdU, called in my patrol report, and was invited to come home. But I have a lot of ammo left in my deck gun, so I've been tracking this convoy as it heads towards liverpool. I spent a day and a half following it, diving to avoid other destroyers who are passing through north of Ireland, and the weather finally cleared. Perfect time for me to finish off the last (wounded) VW Destroyer, sink that pesky Troop Transport, and whatever else I can (gobs of C2's, and that T2 tanker remain).

Patience works for bad weather, but now I have to wait for a passing destoyer to leave the area before I finish them off. Rats. I hope the weather doesn't turn sour in the meantime.

I think it's ******ed how the storms last so long in this game. I don't care what anyone says, storms don't last for 17 days non stop in the western approches ffs.

Also I had an almost flat calm the other day, hardly any swell yet cos the wind was at 7mps I couldn't use the deck gun http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_mad.gif. The boat wasn't even rocking!!

Good Grief! The winds a truly preposterous in this game. Having been stationed in Iceland for a couple of years I will concede the northern Atlantic is a very windy/stormy place, especially in winter. But the Leeward Islands in the Caribbean? The Canary Islands off Africa? Maybe in hurricane season the winds get pretty rough, but not for 7-10 days at a stretch! They really should have implemented a more realistic climate model based on historical records.

On the subject of weather I thought the day and night cycle was accurate too. I had patrol of Trinidad and the the sun rose at 10:00 am in February! Sheesh!
