View Full Version : Aces' Artwork: IL2-MAT Manager v2.31 Preview

06-17-2005, 03:44 AM
Hi all,

I posted this news to my existing v2.30 thread but thought I'd post it seperately.

I've nearly completed the new v2.31 upgrade to IL2-MAT Manager. It should be available sometime this weekend subject to the latest beta getting a clean bill of health from the testers. The main features will be

12 New RAF lettering options
4 New Chinese markings option.
Completely re-written Jabo/Lettering/Numbering program code.

I have produced one upgrade that incorporates my previous v2.21 and v2.30 upgrades and upgrades v2.20, v2.21 or v2.30 installations upto v2.31.

Now for the fun stuff a couple of screenshots showing the new options in action:

More news soon.

Best Regards

Cheers Leigh, this is awesome news http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I'm glad to see that you havent buried the project entirely, and I thank you for that.

BTW, I realise you can select weathered RNZAF Roundels, but as yet I havent been able to select weatherd I.D lettering similar to whats selectable with the RAF.

Is there an option to select these as well for the RNZAF?
If not, would there be any chance you might be able to do some weathered sets for both the RNZAF and RAAF some time in the future?

Cheers mate http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Hi chaps,

Thanks for your comments.

Hi mate,

The RNZAF uses single letters rather than the RAF-style coding in the game. Originally when NZ didn't appear as an option in the game I had them as alternative "British" markings options, the roundels that is. When they finally seperated out RNZAF into it's own option then I moved them to a new RNZAF section. In hindsight I perhaps should have left them there so that one could select them as alternative British and therefore use the RAF style of lettering. If I have any time over the weekend I'll reverse this and re-instate the four RNZAF roundel options to the British national markings section and then you'll be able to select any of them to use with the various RAF lettering options. I'll also keep them where they are in the NZ section like I have done with the RAAF roundels so that you'll have the best of both worlds http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif.

Greetings Hunter buddy good to hear from you.

Cheers all

Edit: BTW the reason I haven't incorporated weathered NZ lettering is the large number of new MATS needed but hopefully re-adding them to the British section will give a much increased choice especially with the new lettering options.
