Play he track and use a screen capture program like fraps to capture it... then send the captured track as an avi file..

Problem with FRAPS is that the resolution is pathetic and creates huge file sizes. What is really needed is a fullscreen player mode that keeps screen resolution sizes. I don't kow if there is anything like that.

The .trk file cannot be converted, it is an event log that the Forgotten Battles application reads to reproduce the action - it doesn't contain an image info, just instructions.

Trk files posted here for others to view are only viewable from within FB.

Video recordings of FB game play require third party software to capture the string of images and record them in an appropriate format.

Nope he's right, ya need fraps or some other third party screen capture software to "record" the trk.

The tracks are indeed instructions that the game engine uses. Hence thee problem with the training tracks in the orig IL2 after the patches.

1- I setup my Digital Camcorder to take in S-Video [loss of resolution there]/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif , then I set my vid card to CLONE the image.
2- I play back the tracks two or three times, from different views.
3- I use Studio Eight [but the free MS movie maker works too] to make a HUGE [4.2GB for every 15 minutes] AVI file
4- I splice, dice and add music. Then Output it to an WMV file [loss of resolution there]/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif
5-I use MS movie maker to decrease the size from 250MB for a 19 minute movie to 85.5MG [loss of resolution there]/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif
6- I plead for server space to host it
7- still waiting to publish it /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

but i've had one generous offer if i can wait [like i'm sammy speilberg /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif you know... steven's not so sucessful brother, sure i'll wait /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif ]

I had the same question and this is the answer I got which works well:
1. Capture the sequence using fraps, this produces a massive file which needs to be compressed.
2.download and install divx media player.
3. download the video editing and capture software, virtual dub.

open virtual dub and select the avi file found in the fraps folder.
then go to the compression tab and select divx as the compresion tool.
you can then compress it and select what frames you want etc.etc. the file will be less than 10% of it's original size.
just go to search to find the links for divx and virtual dub, they are both free and small downloads.

Nonsense, I verified the joints twice!: This was the answer given by chief Mechanic Klaus Stoeffel to Oberst Lotar Von M├╝llenbrock when he complained about some strange vibrations in the wings of his Me-262 during take off. This picture show that Oberst Von M├╝llenbrock's fears were in fact quite real.

JRJacobs, I might be interested in hosting a good film. Can you tell me how to get it? You can see some examples of films I am hosting at OberstWiley's site:
