John Cooper Clarke - Chickentown

02-23-2009, 12:17 AM

"On June 23rd of 1942, Dir. Dip. Ing. Grote (along with Dr.Hacker) from the Ministry of Armament, who was responsible for the production of U-Boats suggested the development of a tank with a weight of 1000 tons. Adolf Hitler himself expressed interest in this project and allowed Krupp to go ahead with it. Project was designated as Krupp P 1000 (Ratte - Rat). This "land cruiser" would be 35 meters long, 14 meters wide and 11 meters high. P 1000 would be equipped with 3.6 meters wide tracks per side made of three 1.2 meters tracks, similar to those used in excavators working in coalmines. It was planned to power P 1000 with two MAN V12Z32/44 24 cylinder Diesel marine engines with total power of 17000hp (2 x 8500hp) or with eight Daimler-Benz MB501 20 cylinder Diesel marine engines with total power of 16000hp (8 x 2000hp).According to the calculations it would allow P 1000 to travel at maximum speed of 40km/h. P 1000 would be armed with a variety of weapons such as: two 280mm gun (naval gun used in Scharnhorst and Gneisenau warships), single 128mm gun, eight 20mm Flak 38 anti-aircraft guns and two 15mm Mauser MG 151/15 gun.

In December of 1942, Krupp created new design of 1500 ton tank - P 1500. It frontal armor would be 250mm thick and it would be armed with 800mm super heavy mortar "Dora" type and possibly two 150mm artillery pieces. P 1500 would be powered by two or four submarine diesel engines. In early 1943, Albert Speer cancelled both projects. P 1000 turret ended up at coastal defence battery (Batterie Oerlander) near Trondheim, Norway.

Even before P 1000 and P 1500, in 1939, Krupp began working on other similar projects for projected series of self-propelled coastal guns for the German Navy - Kriegsmarine.Series was to include 14 different platforms designated from R1 to R14. Armament was to range from 150mm to 380mm and it was to be mounted on fully traversible turntables on tracked carriages. One of the designs was R2 coastal gun armed with 280mm gun. The series never left drawing boards."

F-104N,equipped with a hydrogen peroxide rocket, used for aquainting potential astronauts for high speed flight, collides with an XB-70 Valkyrie.

'Just moments before the fatal accident, the F-104N as tucked neatly in formation off the right wing of the XB-70 and a YF-5A to its right.

At 9:26 a.m., just after the end of the photo session the Lockheed/NASA F-104N collided with the trailing edge of the of the XB-70A-2's right wing. The F-104 rolled up and left across the back of the Valkyrie, shearing off about 50% of the right vertical stabilizer and nearly 100% of the left vertical stabilizer. The F-104 continued to roll to the left in flames and was totally destroyed. The pilot of the F-104, NASA chief test pilot Joseph Walker, was killed instantly in the midair collision.
It's probable that Walker flew his F-104 too close to the XB-70A and got caught in the right wingtip vortex (air corkscrewing off the outboard edge of the wing). The vortex generated by the XB-70 was powerful enough to violently flip the F-104 to the left.'

Dance-Nice Seahawk, for the small forward nosewheel to come into play, those babies must've really pitched forward when they caught the cable on a carrier. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

Stevie Ray Vaughan - Little Wing

Granted it doesn't have Jimi's classic vocals, but personally,I think the guitar is a bit crisper;but then there is 20 yr. difference in technology.

Could do with one of those Backwood's smokes right about now and a shot of Barkers with a chaser to wash down the road dust after a little over 5 1/2 hours of travel time. If the camera was up and running we were in the prime tobacco growing region of the Connecticut River Valley were some of the finest cigar wrapper tobacco is grown. Beautiful regoin to visit if your in the area.

50 percent of the handmade cigars sold [in the United States] are made with Connecticut-shade tobacco (http://www.cigaraficionado.com/Cigar/CA_Archives/CA_Show_Article/0,2322,305,00.html)

03-14-2009, 04:52 AM

First Flight: April 18, 1963
Mission: Full sized test bed for testing "Laminar Flow Control" (also referred to as boundary layer control) theory
Major Accomplishments: Proved that while Laminar flow control was possible, it was not feasible with existing technology.
Power Source: General Electric J79-GE-13, 9,400 lb thrust max.
Wing Span: 93' 6"
Length: 75' 3'
Weight (Loaded): 83,000 lbs
Maximum Achieved Speed: 560 mph
Maximum Achieved Altitude: 42,500 ft

Additional Information: Only two X-21's were built, and were actually highly modified Douglas WB-66D's. The X-21 was flown to test the "Laminar Flow Control" theory. The basic concept is that the exterior surface of the aircraft can be designed to create a slight suction during flight. Slots are incorporated in the aircraft's surface to produce the suction. Though the concept works, environmental considerations including rain, dirt, dust and other particulates required excessive maintenance on the aircraft.

The last known location of both X-21's was Edwards AFB, where they had been gutted of most instrumentation and left out of doors to deteriorate.

steiner562-Billy Joe is a 'real guy'.His doctor is where the Mrs. works, and he and I used to go to chelation/oxidation therapy together(I've got 3 herniated discs and one compression fracture in my back and neck-the oxidation therapy is where you get an IV of hydrogen peroxide with some B-complex,and MSM-it actually helped with the pain for about 6 mo.til I built up a tolerance).

Anyway,Billy Joe and I would just sit there for an hour or so,twice a week and shoot the BS.
He offers us free tickets and all-access passes to his local concerts.

He treats everybody like he's known them for years,he always shakes your hand and he always gives the Mrs. a big hug-great guy!

I_KG100_Prien-I don't know how true it is,but I've heard NATO intercepters approaching the "Bears" had to be careful how close they got;because of all the contra-rotating props they're supposedly deafening.
Which I don't really doubt, because the U.S. Navy wanted a supersonic prop version of the F-84.They only built 2 because the multiple sonic booms per second would sicken ground crews to the point of nausea-and that's with one engine.

We then get the Sack AS-6 plane, introduced as being a "perfect flying saucer plane", an utterly ludicrous claim.

Sack AS6 comes from the first contest of flying models motorized by combustion engines organized in June 1939 in Leipzig-Mockau. Arthur Sack, an original whose dream was a plane with a circular wing, showed his model AS1, which poorly behaved, having to be launched with the hand and showing absolutely no decent flight behavior. In spite of that, Ernst Udet who was the Air Secretary at that time is said to have encouraged Sack to pursue in this direction. He thus built four other models, and finally Sack AS-6.

A prototype of the AS-6 was built in Mitteldeutsche Motorwerke, and was finalized at the Brandis airfield in the beginning of 1944. It was built using the cockpit, the seat, the gear landing and the engine of a Messerschmitt 108 wreckage, and its round wing was made out of wood. Taxiing tests took place in February 1944, and revealed that its rudder was not strong enough: it quite simply broke. After repair and reinforcement, there were 4 rolling tests at the limits of takeoff, and it was then noted that the mobile plans of the wing was right into the turbulence zone and that the plane thus could not fly without crashing. The right landing gear broke at the 3rd test. After repairs and modifications, at the 4th test, the plane took off but immediately banked and almost crashed. The pilot told Sack that it was to better to call it a day and leave it there, and Sack went back to his designer's office and produced nothing more since.

LowFlyer-Many thanks,M8!

The B-17 was unglaublische(unbelievable),they cranked engines 2 & 3 first, and just with those running,it felt as if we were taxiing down an old dirt strip from the vibration and shaking!
By the time we'd taxied to the runway threshold for takeoff, and it was time for final runup-it was deafening-but a good deafening, for sure! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/partyhat.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
The full throttle takeoff was like aluminum Viagra, and the climb rate was amazing for a plane of that size(which seemed tiny inside to a 6' 4",20 stone((Close to 300# dude like me).

The Stearman was suprising in it's power on take-off also-no aerobatics,though-insurance rules-you know the drill.

Need to run,we have to checkout by 11:00 AM tomorrow,so I need to get back to the room and start packing,as I'm using the hotel's PC right now.(If you're ever in the Addison,TX area,Hawthorne suites is a pretty nice place to stay, and convenient to navigate to.)

Choctaw-Great point, never thought of it that way! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I bet that was a blast Esel! I've got to do that one day.

Been reading some books concerning the Vietnam War so I've got this:

I've pieced a few of these together in Photo Shop.

Very nice photo's JG2.

Esel, the B-17 ride sounds like it was great. I'd love to get to do something like that before I bite the dust, or there stops being one or two airworthy.

Avenged Sevenfold- A Little Piece of Heaven (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=df0uDRQhL0o)

04-05-2009, 06:33 AM
Well,I'm already home and unpacked now,and glad to be.
When I got back to the room after using the hotel's PC,and the Mrs. said rather than sleep a few hours, and have to deal with NASCAR traffic, she'd rather run home and sleep in her own bed;I gave in and thanks to the empty Interstates,we covered 130 mi. in about 80 min.It was definitely a "Panzers Vorwarts" or "Damn the Torpedoes" situation! We covered 125 mi. in 80 min. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif

Jagdgeschwader2-Very cool Nam post,I've got some pics from the museums we visited pertaining to the planes you posted,I know I've got a couple of Crusader and Huey shots,I think I've got a Skyraider pic too.
I've got 2GB of memory cards and 4 rolls of old fashioned film to have developed and digitized to see just what I do have.
Anyway,nice post! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

I_KG100_Prien-If you ever get a shot at it,take it!Especially since certain elected officials have decided to make our money worth fire kindling, use it while you can-that's the way I see it.I borrowed a friend's digital super 8 camera.and taped certain parts/views from the flight. It's about 8 and a half min. worth,I just need to get him to put it to disc for me this next weekend,so hopefully I'll have vid/sound of the B-17 flight coming in a week or so! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/partyhat.gif

Pink Floyd - Learning to Fly

04-06-2009, 01:19 AM
At the museum where I flew on Collings Foundation B-17,I met, talked for a couple of hours and had my pic made with Charlie Mohrle,a P-47 pilot who flew 97 missions;received the Distinguished Flying Cross, and an Air Medal with 16 Oak Leaf clusters,4 Battle Stars and a Presidential Unit Citation. He did this flying the P-47 "Touch of Texas",which is closest,in the rear in the pic below.

I'll post the pic when it's developed, and put to disc,as it was taken with a high-end Nikon film camera.

Barkeep can you setup a fresh round of drink's and can we have a few platers of Pickled Egg's & Sausage and some Cracker's added in also.

Sorry for the absence lately... but having some family matters at the time and would like to Thank You All for your thoughts and wishes.

Esel... Really Excellent photos & videos of the trip you and your wife had... that B-25 Pacific Prowler is a Beauty. Is that an early version of the F-102 that is in the second to last photo in your random photo thread? And also sorry to hear about the incident with your wife and the ground personal at the airport while she was trying to take some pictures. What's good for one is good for all. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/51.gif

Dance... Anyone seen Woofiedog lately? Hope he hasn't got himself banned from the Fokkers.

I really shouldn't be falling off these barstool's so offen... must be some type of vertigo though.... because I know it isn't the Baker's bourbon fault! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

Woofie-Great to see you back at the Fokker, and a sweet screenshot of the Panther.
I don't think it's an F-102,because it didn't have delta wings.

Here's a Panther and the engine from Cavanaugh's.

Barkeep-A washtub of beers to celebrate Woofie's return,and I'll be wanting another soon-help yourself,M8's.

Isn't that a Grumman proto Jaguar?

Esel... that Panther is a real Beauty of a ride... F9 just happens to be a favorite of mind for the early jets. Thank's for posting.

For a look at the carrier operations with the Panther & Couger jets, take a look at the below video clip. And its in color film! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif

Yep, an XF-101F-1 it is. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

That last one looks like an AJ Savage, nice looking plane http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

05-12-2009, 11:15 PM
Woofie-The plane you were asking about, looks like an F-106 cockpit, but the F-106 still has delta wings,vs, swept wings with "fences"(like a Mig),and the intakes look different.

I'll be honest,I don't know what it is. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Now,how about a couple of Kamikazes? BARKEEP!!!

I always thought the Panther was uber-cool myself! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/partyhat.gif
Very cool video, thx for sharing. The catapaults seem to have a very short 'throw',of course I realize the planes were much lighter.

Here's a better engine pic,it;s suprising small,eh?

And I like how the museum set it up on a mock-up of a carrier deck.
You need to come to Texas sometime and see these places for yourself;Choctaw111 is planning to come down for a visit/tour,so you should come down too-when time allows.

Nice Southern rock music set,BTW. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Esel... checkout the third & fourth picture from the bottom of the page of the F-102 Delta Dagger in these photos from the Yankee Museum. And Thank's for the added photos of the Panther... F9's have those classic lines, sort of like a 57 T-Bird or 56 Corvette. Simple... but polished look.

"Unfortunately, I don't have an airplane ready to post today.

But I do have a picture and a story to share. The strangely tinted photo above was taken at a place called, "Bodney." Right now, it's a patch of ordinary land in East Anglia, England. But during WW2, it was the base of the 352nd Fighter Group. The building shown is all that remains of the 352nd's base - the all-important Control Tower. It's also the site of one of D-Day's earliest casualties.

As you can see, the place is rather decrepit. But on Midnight, June 6,1944, though unfinished, the tower was part of a hub of anxious activity as the men of the 352nd prepared for their huge moment - provide air cover for the invasion of Hitler's Europe.

If you have any imagination, picture this - inky darkness, the steady, urgent clump of boots, sober, low toned voices, clanks of metal...and about 1:30am, the first whine of an engine starter followed by the fire-belching coughs of Merlin engines...

If we were to go back in time, and stand in that spot where I took the picture, we'd look left as 16 Mustangs of the 486th Squadron* taxi down the field to turn around for their take-off run. The sound would be hypnotic - the crackling lope of 30,000 some horsepower, trundling away, down the field. The visuals, of course, would be vague shadows and indistinct shapes save for the soft flicks of blue and white fire sparking from the exhaust.

Then, just as the seconds would tick to 2AM, engines would howl as the first four Mustangs begin their race toward the tower, galloping down the barely marked field, laden with fuel, ammo...and a sweaty pilot with very little experience in taking off in the black.

A few seconds pass as these airplanes roar closer. Your instincts tell you to get out of the way! Louder, louder, louder...we flinch and step back as the heavily burdened machines leave the ground. If we could see each other's faces, we'd be wide-eyed and breathless, perhaps even buffeted by propwash. If you were near me, you'd hear me blurt, "COOL!"

Then just as the first are airborne, another four roar towards...louder, louder, louder, we flinch again...BOOOM! A supernova of flame blinds us, a blast of heat slaps our faces, the sweet smell of aviation fuel is blown into our sinus...and those bullets, thousands of them, explode like the coughs of demons...

Come back to that photo. Notice the little overhang on the far left corner. On June 6, 2:00AM, that whole corner was ripped from the building as Lt. Robert Frascotti's P-51 smashed into the new tower, shearing the reinforced concrete into pieces, instantly killing him.

Just after I took that photo, Robert Powell, a pilot with the 328th FS, pointed out the vague distinction between the original structure and where the corner had been repaired. This "new" concrete and brickwork can just be barely made out. Powell then stated soberly, "The rest all took off by the light of his flames."

As you can imagine, the story of Frascotti's death is worthy of more words than I've provided. In fact, click here for the full story.

Nevertheless, there's an inspiring message in the ugliness of this early, perhaps first, casualty of D-Day. Today, when you go out to mow the lawn, shop, have a beer on the deck with friends, think about, talk about, if only for a second, the people who, in the words of Red James (Profile 31) "Did what they were supposed to do."

*The 352nd Fighter Group contained 3 squadrons - the 328th FS, the 486th FS and the 487th FS. Each Squadron flying 12 airplanes."

wayno7777... Excellent photos... are those shots from the Reading airshow? Did that Ju-87 have a two man cockpit?

Esel... Interest story about the base of the 352nd Fighter Group. I can see a color change in the brick of the building you have in the photo... wonder if that is the area of damage from the crash.

Dance... Thank's Quite the aircraft and it flew quite well during test... having a one hour glide with the engine off and wing extened.

Planes you never seen before! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjTu0jhqqPE&feature=related)

On October 5, 2006, the HAF Underwater Operations Team (K?????) successfully carried out the salvage of a Luftwaffe Ju87D-3/Trop Stuka, from a depth of 15 metres, half a mile off the coast of Prassonisi at Rodos (Rhodes) island.
According to a combination of available historical data, it appears that the aircraft is most probably S7+GM (100375), crewed by Lt. Rolf Metzger & Uffz. Hans Sopnemann - both MIA), which was shot down on 9 October 1943.
On that very day the II/St.G. 3 lost a total of nine Ju 87D-3/Trop when they were intercepted during their mission against Royal Navy and Hellenic Navy ships in the Aegean. Of these nine, seven crashed into the sea and two made emergency landings on Rodos. A week before, German troops had landed on the island of Kos, which fell the next day. On 9 October 1943, HMS cruiser "Carlisle" and other destroyers, returning from a sweep west of Kos, were dive-bombed SW of Rodos Island by a formation of Ju-87 Stukas. "Carlisle" was seriously damaged and HMS destroyer "Panther" was sunk. Most of her crew were saved by the RHN destroyer "Miaoulis", which has also claimed firing against the Ju-87 formation and probably hit a couple of them.
According to information supplied by HAF Museum experts, from a first inspection of the fuselage, it is suggested that the aircraft has most probably been hit by aircraft fire. In this case, a plausible explanation is that it was downed by P-38s (Ligtning) belonging to USAAF 37th Fighter Squadron, led by the famous double Ace Major William Leverette. On that same day, seven P-38s on a mission to protect RN warships in the Mediterranean sighted a formation of 30 German Ju-87 dive bombers. Following fierce dogfights, 37th Sq has claimed downing several Luftwaffe Stukas and a Ju-88.

Dance-Nice post,as a long-time SCUBA diver,those would be great dives.
I'd like to one day dive the beaches of D-Day/I asked this question of Euro SCUBA divers and they all said they go to Skapa Flow;because the viz @ Normandy was no good.
But I saw a show where they dove the DD Shermans.and their viz was 8-10 ft.
In my part of TX,2-3 ft. is good viz;if I drive an hour or two to The Hill Country,I can get viz of 30 ft. easily.

Anyway,looks like a zero,maybe a TBD(but the engine looks kinda small),and a member of the PB family.

Would be cool to dive the D-Day beaches Esel, but no have idea on the visibility issues, I'm no diver.

The first one is a 'George' but that's about all I know about it.

The second is a TBD at Jaluit atoll, I think the engine is damaged and hanging down there is another TBD there too and it's engine is completely missing, so may be it's a consequence of ditching.

The last is a PBM in Roi-Namur lagoon.

I don't know if you've come across this site before but it has some interesting stuff

and this might be of interest to you, lots of stuff including Scapa Flow..

So, we're flying low .. strafing these ships, see? And I thought .. Oh boy! Any minute now the ZEROS are going to be coming. There's got to be some Zeros around here. And we're horsing around .. zigging and zagging .. and tearing around right in the middle of the fleet.

And just like that .. it started 'snowing' .. those Zero 'sons of a gun' were behind us [firing].

The first guy made a run on me .. went by .. and I 'popped' him. An easy shot. He over ran me .. which is a dumb deal to do. He should have just hit me and broken away. And so I got on the tail of another one, but almost ran into a ship .. concentrating on that airplane.

Wow, Dr. Feelgood! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif
That reminds me of the eighties when I saw a documentary about their music, in that period I learned to play the electric guitar and was impressed by the way their guitarist used to play. His name is Wilco Johnson isn't it? He had this special technique so it sounded like two guitars.
Nice to see. Long live YouTube!

Reminds me of Chuck Berry for whatever reason.

Way back when, I lived at Offutt AFB. They had an air museum at the back gate near the Wherry housing area. They had a B-36 there. One day in 70 there was a tornado that came through. Supposedly, a guy who lived off base was gonna watch it all in his picture window, that is until the B-36 started to take off, without a pilot.

Esel, my pops actually saw that tornado from across the base (it came from the other base housing area near the front gate). Us kids were in bed and he went up on the hill behind the housing units and came running back down yelling to get the kids to the basement. The tornado did a lot of damage to the base tearing up 100+ year old oak trees on the mainside. Very impressionable on a 9 year old.

Check this: Shiner Smokehaus (http://www.shiner.com/main.php?page=live)
Enjoy Shiner's Smokin' Sommer Bier!
Brewed with pale malt that's been smoked with native mesquite in the backyard of our little brewery in Shiner, Texas (pop. 2,070), this refreshing Helles-style beer has a smoky flavor that goes great with all the flavors of summer.

It may sound weird, but smoked beers have been a long tradition in Germany,Rauschbier.
That's gonna go good with a good 24 hr. smoked brisket!!! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/25.gif

Esel... Two of the F-107A's [Man Eater as the crews called them] are still around in museums today.

The F-108 which was going to be an escort fighter for the B-70 "Valkyrie" bomber would have been a beauty of a aircraft.

The other Mach 3 Interceptor which on 28 September 1965 flying at Mach 3.2 and 75,000 feet, fired an AIM-47 missile at a target Q-2C Drone destroying the Drone at 20,000 feet. (http://www.wvi.com/%7Esr71webmaster/yf12%7E1.htm)

To the courageous and brave men & women that have taken those steps into the unknowns of space over the years. But also to the event that took place fourty year's ago... and I can still remeber sitting glued in front of the TV watching those news broadcasts of the takeoff and the first steps of man on the moon.

The first man to walk on the moon. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/clap.gif

The first manned spacecraft landing on the Moon was at 3:17 p.m. EST on July 20, 1969, when the Apollo 11 Lunar Module, the Eagle, landed in Mare Tranquillitatis, located at 0°4'5"N latitude, 23°42'28"E longitude. The Eagle landed approximately 50 kilometers from the closest highland material and approximately 400 meters west of a sharp-rimmed blocky crater about 180 meters in diameter. I was an 11 year old sitting in Yankee Stadium when they stopped the game and had the crowd rise for a moment of silence for the safe lunar landing. Watched the moonwalk at home that evening. Freakin' awesome still!!!

I had my first Shiner Smokehaus tonight, and it was great. The smoke flavor is much milder than some of the German Rauschbiers.
If it's offered in your area, give it a try!

Woofie-I wonder if the "maneater" reputation, might partially come from the over-head intake,or just lame flight characteristics.I realize the average rocket-boosted seat would get them clear, but it looks like the intake almost partially 'overhangs' the cockpit.

I wonder if it had special ejection seat mods, due to the overhead intake?

I can remember watching those Saturn V launches as a kid-and they were unbelievable.
I guess we need to thank Werner Von Braun for running away from the Russians, for those great memories.

Leslie Moore, Ball Turret Gunner, 100th Bomb Group

Sixty-three years ago today, 100th Bomb Group ball turret gunner Leslie Moore flew his first mission, to Bohlen, Germany. In his diary, Leslie noted:

"Mission I

Target: Bohlen, Germany
Date: June 29th, 1944
Flak: Moderate - Accurate
Bomb Load: 20-250 lbs."

For the most part, he was very terse in his diary although he always described the target, date, flak and bomb load. Sometimes he would write comments like: "my birthday: one of the worst days we had".

Young Leslie Moore was only 23 when this photo was taken (old by the standards of enlisted airmen). The photo was taken about halfway through his tour. This is grandson Les Poitras' favorite photo of his grandfather, who passed away not long ago.

Looking at the photo, Les writes: "I wonder if the piece of skin on his neck is from the cold air while in the ball turret. I never had the chance to ask him, as I did not find this photo until AFTER he passed away."

Big-Wheel Battlewagon Design

German commercial firm of the Bremen Hansa-Lloyd Works created the The Treffas-Wagen in 1917, which had huge wheels, heavy guns, weighed 18 tons, and needed a crew of four to operate. This unique monstrosity was not developed any further, to be replaced by even more interesting A7V model.
