I'm trying a Russian '46 campaign; which has me flying a Yak 15.

It's an OK plane; but I feel completely helpless against the 162's. Me 262's don't give half as much trouble.

I don't recall 162's being this good before; are the later models (I'm seeing a lot of gull wing 162's) really so improved?

Any jet tips?

All the 162's are really fast and for a jet that's the best attribute.
The new gull wing (C model) and Forward swept wings(D model) have increased wing area compared with the A variant, reduced drag and much better wing geometry for high speed. The He 162 is a light airframe and it has a good thrust to weight ratio as well.
The Yak 15 is not in the same class with them. Is just a jet engine strapped under a prop fighter with the geometry of low speed turnfighters. Not really a match for a plane design from the get go as a jet.
The Mig 9 on the other hand is a really nice ride. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

The -162 has always been a greatly underapreciated a/c in this sim imho. I've been flying it often for the last 6 months and enjoying it immensly. It is a great BnZ plane and just outruns anything coming after it. My biggest issue is its lack of armor - you are just sitting there under that plexi bubble with a giant target on you and nothing to hide behind...beware of defensive gunners on bombers http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_eek.gif
I really enjoy the way the -162 flies and handles, it is a lot of fun to just go ripping around the sky in and is probably the easiest aircraft to land in the sim.
