A little off track, I know, but what happened to several new airbase types announced long time ago for FB in dev. updates page? They looked very nice.

Also-an idea-it would be great if there would be a tool within FMB to create custom airbases and to put them anywhere in the map-for creating custom online maps. If not, it'll be very cool at least to have airbase objects available in FMB. Please?

We are hoping new FMB place-able Airfields are these....

Note how the airplanes bunch up like on our first static Test Runways of PF 3.0, this is something new here. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

can we expect only those green bases or winter and desert types as well?

That's great, but I was kind of hoping for differently shaped airbases -there were screens (now I can only get them to show up on Google image search) showing some unusual style fields-X shaped, broad, etc in some winter scenery. I searched through all winter maps and couldn't find such airbases anywhere.

To Foo.bar: Guess wouldn't be a problem 'bout that-matter of texture.

Actually....It makes me wonder why if numerous layouts could not "easily" be made.....and placed anywhere flat with room for them...

if these are the one you saw: linky (http://france-simulation.com/article.php?sid=461&mode=&order=0&thold=0)

Pass the Word...

Ian Boys::
quote:
The new fields was a bit of a misunderstanding. What is happening is that planes can now take off slightly staggered on existing fields, alowing more A-20's (for example) in a much shorter area and thereby increasing the space available for take off when there are 20 or so planes on the same runway.

The previous nose-tail queue took up a lot of space and meant some heavier planes at the front of the queue were running out of space.

So these are not new FMB place-able airfields, but old runways we already have fixed on the maps but with new takeoff patterns seen in the FMB place-able Test Runways.

Lets hope they keep the Test Runways for functional use on maps without airfields where needed (and for off-map use if you wish to create a 1000km "map" to use).
