"Ive heard some BS in my time on this forum but the comments made by sec of defense are ludicrous! Since when were spits sent to America and assembled for use in the US! Is he referring to the fact that the Spit is UK designed and built and was sold many years ago to a buyer in the US and shipped over?
Bush says remember 911???!! OMG what is wrong with the US? I can see if the buyer was from iraq or something but its new zealand for crying out loud!!
Ending now before I get really angry!!!!"

UH, you DO know that the thread, for the most part, is satire don't you?

The spit is being held up for export but it is only because of the paperwork.

If they want to make the post look like it came from a news source, the author should probably copy edit it first, lol.

It's all a made up story to cover the true deployment of Vastly Superior Hurricanes.

President George W Bush explained the stance of the current administration. "I would like to clarify that a Spitfire is a single seater. Normally a single seater. With only one person flying it. But this one has two seats. That's nearly twice as many. Obviously that's a threat. With two seats this Spitfire has double the deadly-ality [sic] of a normal Spitfire."

They don't need Customs to keep it on the ground. All three Spitfires broke down at Geneseo last year. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif

The Hurricane flew though. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-surprised.gif
