View Full Version : Problems with Saitek - please help!

Hi all,

I finally decided to buy ilSturmovik 46 after looking at it in the shops for months. Yes, it was hard to save, but here I am, ready to shoot down some mofos and I am lookign forward to finally playing online.

I do have a problem but. I have a Saitek x-52, and while I used it heaps when I was playing lock-on modern air combat, it has been some time since I busted it out. Now, the problem is, when i plug it into my computer's USB ports, windows will recognise it, however when i try to open up the trusty saitek control editor, and the profiel launcher, it tells me to "plug in a saitek controller first". Thing is, when I go into the windows controller window in control panel, it recognises it there. How do I get the saitek controller panel to recognise that I have plugged in my joystick combo?

Any help would be great appreciated. Really. Thanks people

Try reinstalling the drivers and software.

I think you have to plug the controller into the same USB port every time for the Saitek software to work properly. When I accidentally plugged my X-52 into a different USB port, Windows detected it but the Saitek software didn't. I ended up putting numbers on the cords and ports so I don't make the same error again.

Also make sure you only plug it in when the software tells you to. If you plug it in too soon when installing the software, it wont work. The Saitek UK site has a very good help forum log on there and they will help you.

I uninstalled the whole lot, and let windoze recognise it. I run profiler and control editor as seperate exe's and all works well.
