View Full Version : How do I set up a 4.04/4.05 Dual Exe?

Hi everyone...I know this was discussed elsewhere when Pe2 came out...but i couldn't find it with the search function!

I installed 4.05 as soon as it came out but didn't back anything up...why would I, I thought to myself...i've no reason to go back to 4.04? Bad Move!

I've recently signed up to the Joint Ops Flight School (i'll get better at this sim if its the last thing I do!) and they are flying with 4.04 so i need to set up a Dual Start up...4.04 AND 4.05.

How do I do it bearing in mind I was too stoopid to back up any of the earlier files...

download old patch to 4.04 just extract the files and get the file files.SFS . copy your current one to for example files.405 other one to files.404.
Now when you just copy files.404 over files.sfs you get version 4.04 and when you copy files.405 over files.sfs you get version 4.05.

Simply you could create 2 batch files doing just this for you when starting 4.04 or 4.05 (after you did setup it like above).

copy files.404 files.sfs

copy files.405 files.sfs

There is a toll. I think from Silent Hunter call JSME

Here is the link to JonesSoft Generic Enabler

It will switch the exe back and forth

You put the JSGME in the main 4.04m game folder, run it, it makes a MODS folder. Then you add the exe into that MODS folder Using a folder called something like "PE2 4.05" with the 4.05m in this folder.

Creat a shortcut for the JSGME and your done
