In advance thanks for replies to my post on CEM. Starting to get that down, well kinda. Anyway, have started a campaign with an SBD-3. First mission is to take off from the intrepid, which i actually have down at this point and bomb a japanese carrier. The mission sets me as the wingman with only one other sbd-3 as the leader, no fighter escort. The problem is that even if i stay with my wingman, or try to fight the 3 A6M zeros that come after us i end up in the drink. I have had success in taking out one of the three but can not seem to get out of the mission with success or alive to say the least. Just curious if anyone has any tips on this particular battle in the campaign. Have tried staying the course with the leader and letting the rear gunner try to deal with the zero's but with no success. Any suggestions would be appreciated. THanks.

I've had a lot of fun with the SBD in similar scenarios. I like to hop in the backseat and take over the gunner position as I've found my aim is a little better then the AI gunner. Takes practice though. I recommend disabling the auto-pilot and learning to fly backwards.

Buzzsaw1939, Corsair and myself set up a practice mission to try and duplicate this and passed the tracks back and forth. I'd post a few but my son has my PC occupied for the moment.

It can be done but the key is practice, practice, practice...

Thanks for the response will give it a go. Hope my aim is better from rear gunner position than in the cockpit.
