Hello,

This past weekend I got an X45 fr my birthday. I have built a profile that seems to wrok well for me.

A couple of questions. I down loaded the latest software from saitek. in the book it says I can associate a profile with an exe file, but the software I downloaded didn't do that. I have to manuelly run the profile befoe or after I start FB.

So, is there a way to associate the profile to automatically load?

The mouse on the throttle doesn't seem to want to move the mouse, is there something else I need to setup?

And lastly... I've noticed that if I don't have the stick lower, for example on the keyboard try instead on top of the desk, my wrist hurts some. What are joystick placement you use for bext comfort?

Thanks for your help.

<script>var a=document.all.tags("table");a[a.length-2].bgColor ="#245E16";a[a.length-3].bgColor = "#FFFFFF";a[a.length-4].bgColor = "#44693B";if(a[a.length-5].innerHTML.indexOf("User Options")!=-1){a[a.length-5].bgColor = "#44693B";a[a.length-8].bgColor = "#000000";}else{a[a.length-7].bgColor = "#000000";}</script>

I don't know how to associate a profile to an exe.

I just right click the Saitek thingy in the start up menu and click what profile I want before booting a game. I often forget to clear it for games I don't need a joystick for (M:TW/VI)(and yes, there are games that don't require one) and it sometimes plays hell with those other games. Just a heads up.

You need to open the profile editor to set the mouse doohickey to be the mouse doohicky. Once it's open, click the mouse button on the joystick graphic on your screen, or click the reall life button to higglite the section to program that. Once it's highlighted, right click and there are several options to choose after that. Click the one that says "mouse". The sensitivity slider is somewhat self explanatory (sp?), play around till you are pleased with it.

If I messed this up, I'm at work, PM me and I'll get together a package that shows how this is done.

Good luck

Thanks, I'll try that tonight.

Well, it is different depending on what OS you are using.
The method about associating a profile to a program is for 9x, the manual choosing method is with 2k/xp.
I use XP so the manual version is what I use, and I have used both and prefer the manual method IMO.

Associating profiles with programs was a feature of the old SGE drivers. The new SST drivers doesn't allow it.

I have my X-45 placed on my desk front of the monitor and it seems comfortable to me. /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

My problem is the keyboard sits on a pullout try and to reach over the keyboard to the stick accualy hurts. I'm going to get a keyboard extension and move the keyboard up when I play and see if that helps.

I put my keyboard and mouse pad on the desk, and put my X-45 and throttle on the keyboard rollout tray. I rarely have to use the keyboard, since most commands I use are already programmed into my x-45

Bearcat, you got the newest drivers from saitek? I would try those if you dont. I havent seen any problems with them. I beta test for them, and a lot of their older drivers had some issues, which are mostly wrung out in the newest ones.
