Just started using this gun last night. Very accurate and at a pretty good range. Not as powerful as some of the other AR's but I think this might be my new baby.

I used it a lot pre-patch and it was good back then: I think the new one improved it slightly.

Still prefer my FAMAS though... http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_razz.gif

The M8 looks really cool if you take the attachments off. It looks like a future gun or something like that.

Cool, a ray gun. I want one. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/88.gif

I used to use the M8 before I found the MTAR.

I think the m8 looks ultra big and ugly in this game. In real life it isn't that big and looks really cool. in this game it just looks like an over sized waterpistol

well close to the real gun, that is a prototype model. But nearly identical, of course the actual military combat models will come in various colors green, biege, etc.

the only differences, like you said are the colors and also the actual gun has different variations.

The compact as you can see has a shorter stock.
The sharpshooter has a longer barrel
and the carbine is what is supose to be in the game.

I personaly have fired all of the variations. The carbine doesnt act anything like in game. And the compact is a damn good gun.

The auto rifle variation is the same as the sharpshooter variation with a 98 round drum. There is no added recoil(unless you hold the trigger) so there really isnt even a need for the bipod.

too bad the gun will never see combat since it was canceled due to heating issues

the m8 is ok in rainbow 6 vegas, the g36c is a noob gun, it practically fires in a straight line. the mtar has to be one of the best assault rifles. ak-47, is lethal on single bullet fire but not too good in close combat. 552 commando, in my opinion it is a under-rated gun, rarely used but is extremley effective. If you have just bought the game i would recommend starting with this gun as if you can master it you can master any gun easily in the game.

The M8 in the game is good but in real life it is a piece of ****. The reason it was cancled was that after repeated firing the things outercasing melted to the chambering system and jammed it. Also I have the fact that the gun in the game has a picatinny rail on the top but in real life there was never going to be a modle with one.

That is one of the reasons that I hate the gun.

All the guns suck in Vegas since the last patch. End of thread.

Any gun is as good as the other except when it comes down to a few things:
-moving and shooting
-long range

-Long range is dominated by assault and snipers. Just about any assault rifle can be used well at long range in a burst and definitely with single shot. Ak-47 and M8 excel with silenced singleshot and can reach sniper distances.
-Moving and shooting is partially controlled by the player but certain guns are easier to control or get a general idea of where the bullets will fly if your running and gunning

but yea, the m8 is nice

The M8 tends to be my weapon of choice when playing story or terrorist hunt maps that have a mix of outdoor and indoor locations. I prefer it for intermediate to long ranges, if I feel I will need controllable full-auto fire (otherwise I will use the G3 on semi-auto for long range affairs). Semi-auto fire for long range kills seems good and like when I use the G3, I will double tap. It works well with any of the optic sights.

I still think the FAMAS is more accurate than M8. I get more kills from the famas.

Only because your used to it and have learned how to use it. I guarantee any gun you use for more than a month and you will learn how to use it, you would get just as many kills as with your famas maybe more.

Try it if you like. Although if you feel you would play bad with any other gun just stick with your famas
