20MM Cannons.
All it needs now is some HVARs.

& yes, HVARs would be a nice addition, (not that the Jug needed up-gunning)

Have these photos just been released?
Before the other week I had never seen anything like this before.

No, I first saw them years ago. Almost every time they're posted it's because of a wish for an "improvement" over 8 .50 cals, maybe this is an exception.

What are they...60 round drums? Neat, but an ugly modification. I wonder how many P-47s were equipped with such a package or if this is the only example.

Never seen this modification either.

HaVoK: Just one was so modified & the pilot was afraid to fire it while airborne. He said he was concerned the vibrations would rip the wings off.
Rip the wings off a Jug.
I believe the Jugski was a also a one off. Maybe two. Braking must have been an exercise in uncontrolled terror.

Maybe if we start enough Jug threads, they will give us our own forum.

JUG FORUM: no references to ponies allowed!!

well, it's a thought, anyway.

OWL: did you know he did it on a napkin?
Useful things napkins, P-47, Gettysburg address, St Gaudens dollar. DaVinci probably used napkins.

Wonder why a Wildcat which is a carrier born aircraft would need such a getup. Damn that is ugly...lol.

I would imagine anyone here who is a fan of the P-47 knows that. Alexander de Seversky who was a Russian immigrant and Alexander Kartveli Georgian immigrant.

For the same reason A6Ms had floats: to have fighters based in a forward area where there aren't any airstrips. And I agree that the Wildcatfish takes the already homely Wildcat to a whole new level of weirdness. I have a concept drawing for a Hellcatfish somewhere too.

How many of you guys knew that the P-47 was designed by a russian??

How many of you knew that the Cheeseburger was designed by an American?

And that "American Cheese" is not actually imported to any country in the entire world.

Although cheese was not originally used in the beginning.

I always thought that American Cheese is just a term that they use for Cheez Whiz, or those Kraft thingies that come in pre-packaged little plastic wraps.

At least that's the prevailing view up here in Canada.
