Just out of the blue it occurred to me that using Team Speak or other communication software in full real servers with the upcoming KotS (or any other WWI sim for that matter) is actually sort of cheating...
Fortunately KotS simulates an era when pilots were gentlemen, so we don't have to fear this kind of behaviour. Isn't that a relief? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

Time to get some sleep, I guess.

I play a lot of OFF(Over Flanders Fields.WWI mod for cfs3)online.While not historically accurate teamspeak does make the online(and offline) experience a lot more fun.

"Sort of cheating"? Hmmmm.

No, it would be cheating, period. Not that this makes a difference to us single-players.

Good point.

By the way, in online battles €" is it possible to get your radio knocked out by gunfire?

That's why I think ALL online games should have some sort of 'radio' communication... if anyone plays Syphon Filter you know... it's got bult in VOIP... but some people use TS so they can talk when they are dead and not have to worry about the enemy listening in on their conversation (you cheating punks!) .... it would be awesome to have radio commincation with the possibility of having it knocked out by enemy fire...

Dear All,
I must say that I do think that the use of teamspeak online makes up for the limited field of view and visual acuity even with TIR. Although TIR adds to the realism you can't lean right out of the cockpit and search (WWI open cockpit) to try to find an enemy but another flyer can warn you via TS. Also if you get too close to the detector your views go haywire thus disorientating you. So I think one compensates for the other.
Best regards,
SLP

Not if you're using Teamspeak http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif
Though sometimes your connection to the TS server may drop out, does that count?

Not entirely new, there was discussion about this in the early days of IL2 Sturmovik with respect to the lack of radios fitted in a lot of VVS aircraft early in WW2.
