Hello m8's

I would be glad for any tips on servers with serious early-war maps featuring Eastern front.

I fly too many latewar scenarios although I better like early plane-sets. Well I actually like most maps up to 1942, but miss good early Barbarossa and Finn-Russo scenarios.

Lately I have flown even on outside-view servers
With fantasy planesets such as Zero and 109 on the same side, only to be able to fly the I-16 and I-153 that evening.
Sometimes that is ok, but having flown many years on serious maps with serious players it's hard to settle with arcade playing for long.

Interestingly I have noticed many experienced playsers using these type of servers as targetpractice, slaughtering the innocent, so to speak. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-wink.gif

I have no problem with Icons-on servers. I anyway have them off.
I also know of the better American servers, and that some of them have a few early scenarios, but since I live in Europe I can only follow them during 'my' daytime and usually I seem to miss the early Eastern front-maps although people on the servers asures me that they have them. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/34.gif

I and my brother usually jump from server to server to be able to fly some early scenarios but we don't know if any of these servers are more towards latewar or early war.

Suggestions welcome and appreciated http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/heart.gif

UK-Dedicated 2 for 4.05 (and 4.04 on UK-1) are my favourites for scenario based play. They are medium difficulty settings (not arcade but not full out either which is a good mix for us casual types) and they offer a wide range of 90% historical scenarios. There's definately alot of early Eastern Front maps with alot of Yak-1 vs Bf109F-2 and I-16 against 109E-4/E-7 type setups. You'll also see some rare but effective groups of bombers sticking together and some decent teamwork now and again (depends on who's on the server really).

We've had some hilarious times with a trio of TB-3 Zveno SPB with a total of 3 TB-3s and 6 I-16s.

What he said. NN also has some later-war maps, but it has a good mix of 'early' in there as well. With the focus on the Eastern Front, it'll appeal to many of those wanting something other than the typical late-war WF permeating the servers so frequently these days.

You absolutely must check out ADW.

ADW Web Site (http://www.adwwar.com/en/)

It's a very serious and competetive online war with some awesome servers and some very clever mission generation. All Eastern Front, runs right up from Barbarossa to 1945 chronologically, with progressive development of planesets. Today is the 16th of April, 1945 - not long before it rolls around again!

The current map of the front is displayed on the opening page, and changes every hour with the effects of the last hour's play shown. They also have their own forums (english language ones down the bottom of the forum (http://www.gennadich.com/forum/) list). It's very popular with Eastern Europe, being based in Russia, so you'll always have company during your evening hours.

If you're in a squad it's the best thing out there (you need to be in a squad because of the way resources are allocated). If you're not in a squad it's worth joining one to play!
