View Full Version : this wuld have been a good alternative to making brotherhood and revelations

so we all know that ubisoft released brotherhood 1 year after c2 and it was a good game and revelations to follow would also be a good game but i feel that instead of these games it would have been much better to have just made a new assassin, although you may assume i mean ac3 with a 2 year cycle for 2011, i dont. i think they could have made a fully fledged sequel by q1 2011.firstly the setting would play a big role in the new game so i think they shuld have chose a setting similar to italy but with some difference, next they dont need to go forward in time that much, this way gameplay doesn't have to change that much, here is my idea below:

instead of brotherhood and revelations they should have had ac3 launch in february 2011 set in 17TH CENTURY SPAIN.
the game can be set in the habsburg era which was spanned over 200 years but in this game it would be mid 17th century meaning around 1650

in this game we could have barcelona as the mian city with 2 small towns the size of tuscany r forli, these towns being viana which was in acb last mission

and Vienna which is a small city in austria, this would complement the fact that habsburg were also in Austria.

The game would have a similar storyline to brotherhood in the modern day era in that say ezio hides the apple in a vault in spain and desmond needs to locate it, the modern day missions can stay the same as in acb, the difference being that they are viwing a new assassins memories rather than ezios but still use the sanctuary for this. same ending as acb with SPOILERS: lucy gets stabbed. they can still have all missions like in brotherhood meaning that the game would expand on features of ac2 rather than have something completely new and the extra 3 months of development will help for polishing and so on, so basically all im saying a an ac with a new setting and character with a brotherhood skin, i know this is impossible now but i wanted to share this so there you go, i had an idea for the assassin's personality in that he is an assassins but not a very good one, he is an inventor like da vinci and so makes firends with another investor to lay the story for exotic missions (Leonardo missions). this would be possible as you can say the free months extra can be used to create character, extra time on plot and polish.

dont get me wrong i am very excited for acr and think ezio is a fantastic character but i would have preferred what i said above more, i would have preferred Victorian london or French revolution but they are to different to develop in 15 months which is why i said 17th century spain above because it is a similar setting to ac2.

tell me what you think below:

Well, if it's basically the same as ACB, just with another location and ancestor, then what's the big point? We would lose the point of Brotherhood, seeing Ezio become the mentor.

That aside... Vienna? A small city? It's the largest in Austria!

EDIT: Well, of course back then, it might have been smaller, although I don't know too much about that. Still, it WAS the capital...

A picture of Vienna in 1683, during the 2nd Battle of Vienna, 2 months after it had been besieged by the Ottomans. I wouldn't call that small. I would, however, really appreciate it to have an Assassin's Creed game set in my home country http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Whatever. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't have been able to create such a game in... 15 months? Plus we'd have missed out A LOT of Ezio's story. And Altair's.

i would like to see AC3 set during the Thirty Years War in Europe.

I am definitely ready for a new ancestor but there wouldn't really be any point to following up the beginning of Ezio's story with a new ancestor. I think seeing Ezio age and his life is really sweet because we have AC2 and then two really big expansion packs that are slowly closing up the story of both Ezio and Altair and setting us up for AC3. I would much rather have it this way and then have a year or two after Revelations before we see an actual AC3 which I wouldn't mind being broken down like AC2. We get more gaming and experiences and each game gets better and better. Putting out AC3 instead of Brotherhood would have really rushed the story and we wouldn't ever get a refined multiplayer or new gameplay elements, plus it limits us as to all the places we could go. Instead of seeing Masyaf in two eras, Acre, Dasmascus, Jerusalem, Florence, Forli, Romagna, Venice, Rome, Constantinople, and Cappadocia plus any cities in AC3 (there better be a main city and multiple towns Ubi!) we would be limited to a few less environments and less environments that are really unique not just in look but in how you play in them.

Everyone should just quit whining since we'll have a new setting and assassin next year anyway.

i am not whining as if you read the full post i said im very excited for acr and too like the way this is going but i thought it would be interesting to discuss waht would happen if the series had taken another route. and yes BK-110 it would be essentially brotherhood with a new ancestor and location but wouldnt that be a bit more interesting if done correctly althougfh im still happy with a continuation of ezio becasue he is a badass character, im just saying it would have been cool to have been introduced to another era.and Sporkfighter you would have done (with waht you said about locations of mp) becuase the mps are taken form test subjects so abstergo already had the data so they could have used it.
