I was so diabolically happy today in my new campaign, when I shot down a Ju-88...and then poured some lead into another Ju-88 that had an engine on fire and was in a steep dive. I don't know who set it afire, but I knew it wasn't me, I only fired on one and for a wonder I hit exactly where I wanted in the wingroot.

The second Ju-88 was done for, but I shot it up pretty good after the fact, and when it hit the gound, I got a message that said "Good shooting, number six!"

Well, thank you. Thank you very much ; ) My flight mates get a little of their own medicine for a change

I do this all the time now - because my wingmen like to steal my kills sometimes, I take the opportunity to get them back. It's a great use for your MG17 or ShKAS guns!

I don't know but I don't find it too realistic if I get too many kills in a campaign, so it's allright if my mates get some of mine to make the score look more real. Especially since it can give them more experience.

I don't usually bother to steal my wingie's kills, since I don't really care THAT MUCH. But I do find it annoying when they go for a done for plane.
Once I was behind a Bf110 shooting it up pretty bad. I got it's engine on fire and, since I was getting dangerously close, decided to pull up and break it off since he was obviously going down anyway. Well what do I see? A short stream of green tracers tears the 110's wing off and takes away my kill! Aghhhhhhh!!!!

It's much more annoying in an online war such as VEF2. Today I shot an I-153 to hell and even PKed him, then the Bf 110 I was tasked with escorting stole my kill /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-sad.gif . Joke is on him though, I used my entire ammo load killing that I-153 so I let him go the final 100km/h all on his own /i/smilies/16x16_smiley-very-happy.gif .

At the start of WW2 the German army lacked experienced anti-aircraft gunners. The average gunner was so bad that the USSR decided to help them out. They did it by forcing some of their pilots to fly I-153 flak magnets. These planes were slow but very sturdy. This allowed German anti-aircraft gunners to get a large amount of target practice on a relatively small number of planes. Thanks to the Soviets help, by the end of the war the German anti-aircraft gunners were amoung the best in the world.</center>

The kill stealing by the AI is not half as bad in FB as in CFS3.
I have been shot down many times by my own wingman because he start blasting away at "my" target while I am still on his six.
That's anoying enough but what bugs me even more is when I shoot down a plane down in flames and with missing pieces I see my Squadron buddies dive down after it and steal the kill.

At least in FB when a plane is on fire and crashing down they don't shoot it anymore and I have never seen my wingman shoot right passed me trying to shoot the plane I am hunting at the moment.

So far I have been shot down by friendly AI only once because I flew into his stream of fire by mistake.

In FB the AI do fire at planes that are on fire and keep on flying, but once it's crashing down or with missing wings they leave it alone.

Hi guys

You're talking about AI stealing in offline campaign, what's the point they will be probably dead before 5 or 6 six mission. At first it was very annoying, altough i saw it only when the ennemy planes had their engine stopped. If the AI gets a Kill he will certainly be promoted and that will "help" him be a better pilot, so give them some credits and you'll be rewarded with a more helpfull squadron in situations more desperate.

Good flight to you !

"Oops...Looks that the Heating System and WEP controls are mixed !! ": Last radio message heard from polkovnik Lavotchkin. Any coincidence between this event and recent patches applied by russian mechanics to some planes are merely speculative.
