I am a more recent 1C sim fan. I own the orginal il-2 and my Dad sent me pacific fighters as a birthday present, which I really dig. At the moment Im playing both stand alone (I think you can only play il-2 stand alone.)

Anyway, I asked my brother back home to find the gold pack for forgotten battles and hes told me its discontiued. Ive looked on ubisoft shopping site and they only offer forgotten battles not aces expansion http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif. I could get it from amazon but for some reason they dont ship to Japan http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_confused.gif.

Can anyone tell me how to get these two so I can play like the rest of you guys.

Futureshop in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada has some copies. I actually live in Abbotsford, an hour's drive from Vancouver, and saw several copies there.

Yeah mate, eBay is the way to go. I was looking for ages for FB Gold all over EB stores, but, stinges they are, didn't sell it anymore. But I still got my copy in the end, so I'm stoked http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif

I hesitate to mention it, but...

You only need the FB AEP disks for the initial install. Once you merge you only need the PF disk to play. Do you know someone you could borrow the disks from?

Nope, not here. Im the only English speaking aviation geek I know in Japan and the Japanese ones I know 1) dont play 1C games and 2) if they did would buy Japanese versions. eBay should be the solution I think.....

Ohh, so that warrents you deleting my post. I was just adding to the thread and giving some ideas. If you can delete anyones post because they were not being talked to directly, then you will have to delete 75% of all posts.

9th_Spitin, it probably is because this is a UBI forum, not a 1C forum. Making suggestions that would circumvent sales through UBI are probably not welcome. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/10.gif

For what it's worth, I read your post before it was deleted and I agree with it in principle. Getting the most out of this game depends on buying a product that is getting extremly difficult (nearly impossible, actually) to find on store shelves. Strangely, though, the local Wal-Mart has had the original IL2 (usless for our purposes here) in the bargain bin for about 4 months! No FB, AEP or FB Gold Pack, though. When I got my copy of FB Gold, it was the last one on the shelf at a EB store 40 miles away. I had to call around for a couple day before I found it, since no local stores had it (many had not even heard of it).

I think UBI should take a page from some of the online marketers like Battlefront and offer some of the older, more diffiucult to find games as online-only purchases. The overhead is minimal compared to normal 'retail box' distribution, meaning that they could still profit from older titles.

And what's wrong with that? http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/blink.gif

As a community member and moderator, it is discouraging to see someone use anothers inquiry as a platform to call attention to himself, while ignoring the request of the thread starter. No assistance is offered, or information on how to obtain the games as others have done. Instead, you spam the thread with your business acumen, which no one really cares about anyway. In essence, its all about you.

This is a community forum and as such run by community members. When 1C/Ubi people come here, it is on their own time.

Is that a simple enough explanation why your spam was deleted?
Another will get you a weeks vacation.

Well I guess I was looking at it in a different way than you did. I was not trying to spam or do anything to my own agenda, I do not benefit from the success of this game. Just trying to make a suggestion. Ohh well, next time I know, stand in line and be quiet. http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/11.gif

So a post giving possible suggestions to prevent such future problems and illegal copies is deleted? Yet the post suggesting using an illegal copy remains... I'd object to it being deleted as well because its completely illogical and unneccesary.

I'd object to it being deleted as well because its completely illogical and unneccesary. I am giving you a week off to become familiar with the terms of use. RNZAFJay asked the simple question, Can anyone tell me how to get these two so I can play like the rest of you guys. If you have no contructive response, but instead attempt to hijack the thread, you don't need to post.

I agree with 9th Spitin. He didn't do or say anything that should require his bs "week vacation" If your American I would remind you of our first ammendment right. He didn't even post anything that was inflamatory. So whats up?
I would direct you to a post on 31 March 2004. The guy actually posted that he would provide info on how to pirate PF and his post wasn't blocked. So why Spitin?
In my opinion it was selective and biased and completely unfair.
This is my first post to this forum and now I am ready for my "vacation".
In fact don't bother I resign!

Obviously the "Gold Pack" is getting harder to find. What about the AEP "Ace Expansion Pack" by itself? Any problems with finding it? I live in the "sticks" and am going to town tonight. Will have to look. Would like to pick up an extra copy of everything just to have in case I loose one of my cds or something just goes bad. This sim is too good not to have a backup.

Think I saw the "Gold Pack" at Hastings a week or so ago. If it's still there guess I'd better get it.

At my local EB @ Brookside they have about 5 copies of FB & around the same PF, but no AEP or Gold Pack.

Man, what is this "Ding **** School" in here. Why don't these babies grow up.

I'm trying to get information on buying some back up CD's of this great sim and it seems like I'v come to a Day Care Center or something.

I've found the AEP everywhere but not the original FB or the Gold pack. Was told they are discontinued. I want new "originals" for backups.
