I had previously listend to "period" music, very engrossing but boring for me.

I am putting in some Rage against the machine, Styx, Pantera, and metalliac S+m, going to see how this helps make the time go by

only das boot soundtrack. As a matter of fact, this one should have been released in conjunction with the game http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

Me and the Boys, we got our hands on Kill Bill VI and watched that, on patrol. Don't ask where we got the Projector. I have connections.

Those americans are bloody folk.

I listen to metal and some Dark/ambient.
It may not fit the time but atleast it is better then the original music.

I'm listening to 1930s Jazz, some classical (Strauss) and some European period music. I desperately want to download more classical and jazz, but I don't know where to get it, so if anyone could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.

What I'd really like are the following:

Strauss, Emperor Waltz.
Cole Porter, Let's Misbehave
Mozart, Eine Kleine Nacht Musik

Right now i have the score from "Pearl Harbor" in the playlist! Fits great! Especially the 2nd track (Tennesse)is awesome when you are casually cruising on the surface. Great boost of cinematic atmosphere! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Track 08 (War) is perfect for battle situation. I don't know if the enemys can hear the gramophone, and frankly: i don't care! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

There's a folder called gramaphone in the game directory so I guess this is where you keep yout tunes right? What format does it read, just wav files? I can't get mine to work.

I've got a four disc set of Der Blutharsch at the moment. Works well with the game.

It can read mp3s and ogg files too.

You have to make sure that "music" is enabled in the sound options. And, in order to prevent the in game music to play over the gramophone music, you have to delete or move the soundfiles in the "music"-folder (i recommend the latter). But keep the music.cfg-file in the folder.

That should work, cause it worked for me. http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

A little Grateful Dead, Phish, Pink Floyd and a lot of various blues artists. Nothing beats the open sea blues like some Muddy Waters or a 30 minute version of Dark Star to keep you going across the Atlantic.

Das Ich. It's German and moody.

The clash, Jam and its a long way to tipperary of course. But I've been doing the last few patrols while watching the black books box set I bought the other day.

Rammstein all the way! http://forums.ubi.com/images/smilies/icon_twisted.gif

Linkin Park, Dope, Smashmouth, Max Webster and Rush...on my stereo.

As charming as it is to tell the radio guy to play some tunes, I prefer to just turn my stereo on and let the rest of the game eat up cpu cycles for both performance and heat optimizing. But I'm just old fashioned that way. Back in Dos days I used to autoexec.bat a boot menu with a custom boot for each game I had. Ah remeniscing...sniff!

If I had to use my PC speakers I'd just plug my walkman/mp3 player into the line-in on my soundcard.

Wagner, what else.

03-31-2005, 05:05 PM
I'd like to get my hands on some swing music but I don't know where or what to get.

Anyone have any title suggestions for me?

MP3's iv tried and that worked well in increasing ambience:

Music from the pearl harbour soundtrack (thanks for tip goth! http://forums.ubi.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif)

Loading music from the MMOFPS Planetside (Excellent fot cruising in bad weather)

Enyas british airways theme (No kidding! This is excellent for cruises on a calm ocean at sunset/Sunrise!)

Various tracks from sub movies (Das boot, U571 HFRO)

Band of Brothers Theme (Nice for departing from the harbour)

Requiem for a Dream (Orchistrated version from The Lord of the Rings. Good for combat situations.)

Thats all i have tried so far, all blend well with the game. I am thinking of making a short SH3 movie featuring the Band of Brothers Theme.

How do we use the Grammaphone without the annoying ingame music?
