This autumn, my book on the Battle of Britain will be published. It will be published first in a Swedish edition (titled €œLuftstrid ¶ver Kanalen€), and then probably in an English edition.
My first book dealt with the Battle of Britain and was published in Swedish in 1983. (See http://www.bergstrombooks.elknet.pl/luftstridkanal.htm )
Since then I have written most books in English. For an overview of my writing, please see: http://www.bergstrombooks.elknet.pl/
My new book on the Battle of Britain is not only an extensively edited and "updated" edition of my first book; it contains so much new material that it will actually be a new book. It will be quite large (a. 180,000 words, richly illustrated with both photos, colour maps and aircraft colour profiles by Claes Sundin).
This book is the result of a painstaking research work for over thirty years into RAF and Luftwaffe documents, interviews with scores of pilot veterans on both sides (including Johnnie Johnson and Adolf Galland).
Among other things it will contain a complete list of every single aircraft loss on both sides during the Battle of Britain (similar to Francis K. Mason's classical work or €œThe Battle of Britain Then And Now, Mk V, but now based on the latest research level).
Although this story has been told so many times, I can promise very much new material in this book.
I think this book will give many people well-founded reason to rethink regarding their assessments of many events and aircraft during the Battle of Britain.

...although the "fake picture" of the book cover is slightly misguiding. I will have a nice shot of Spitfires and Messerschmitts on the front cover.
All the best,
Christer Bergstr¶m
